Leonardo had been sick to his stomach about it all week. Meeting someone in person, someone he met over an online dating website no less, well, it was not something he was used to doing. But he was young and in a new country with one friend and a few coworkers. He had little time to spare between his hobbies and his work in pharmaceuticals. Besides, he reasoned with himself, it might be fun.
Still, he was wary. Even though he did find his blind date Gerardo--assuming the other wasn't fishing for cats, or whatever it was they called it in the United States--very attractive, he was nervous to see him in person. Perhaps he wouldn't be exactly what his profile had said he was.
Yet, he waited patiently in front of the restaurant that they had decided to meet, checking his phone religiously to watch the time and to text his close friend what was happening to calm his nervous. He silently hoped that his date wouldn't stand him up.
