IDK if you noticed, but several VAs from Fodlan were also casted for UO!

I recognised some names (I assume you're talking about the english VAs?) in the credits!

But to be honest...

I often (always) play with the jp voices, so I don't notice unless I'm watching a video on Youtube or something, and after the mess that was Fodlan and its lolcalisation... I'd say having a character dubbed by Pat would give me a negative impression of that character if I had to listen to Pat lol - of course that might change regarding what said character is saying - but yeah.

His X and participation in the fandom really soured Zieja for me, so I'd have the same reaction than the one with Pat, a negative first impression, so I prefer to avoid my negative biases.

IIRC, Aramis is voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu Ignatz's VA (La Monte?) but knowing that he and Pat are working/worked together on lolcalisation projects (FEH at one point?) would... not endear me to the character that is being played.

Also, Ryotaro Okiayu : can you realise I grew interested in Xillia after getting a Gaius unit in Tales of Link just because of his seiyuu? Sure, the EU release only has the US dub but while Travis Willingham is nice and all, but I was lured in by Ryotaro Okiayu, blame me watching too much Bleach raw episodes all those years ago

FWIW, I'm glad the VAs from Fodlan found other games to participate in and glad for them that their performance is appreciated enough that they were called back to dub another game!

VA direction is another can of worms, but I haven't listened to enough UO in english to pick major differences (on the par with rhage).

So I just found out that apparently there’s something as National Voice Acting (VO) Day, which is today (at least in the US but let us European folks join in, ok)? 😂 And since I need to annoy remind people every once in a while that this blog is still all about DA and my obsession with voice acting, useless trivia and German VAs in particular, here’s an old (poorly edited) video I made two years ago on the entire German voice cast of DAI <3 (which was inspired by this one on the English cast btw 😁). Who are some of your favorite VAs (Bioware’s got plenty of amazing voices!)? <3

I still love this cast so much and I actually got to meet some of them personally over time, and I’m soooo friggin excited to see who they’re gonna cast for DA4 (for all the languages, that is)!
