                        his apartment is, to say the least, a mess.    not that is isn’t usually, but after the whole ordeal with the time-travel and the soul-switching and dirk gently, todd find that the motivation to do mundane things like tidy up on a regular basis has escaped him.           he is currently sitting in his sofa, that has for sure seen better days, strumming his electric guitar absentmindedly.  he isn’t really playing anything, after the beating the old thing took when todd had a minor after a certain wrecking of his home, playing it properly just doesn’t sound quite as beautiful.    not that he thinks dirk, his only audience, would notice or mind.           “do you play any instruments?”              he stops playing and finds himself asking a question he has never even thought about before.    there are a lot of things he doesn’t know about his.. well, friend, but this might be a good place to start.

“I think it was very generous to call it a date, even.” dirk talks around the bolt he’s holding between his teeth, which grit a little tighter as he reaches the full length of his arm towards a spanner that’s just slightly too far away. “Don’t tell me you’re asking for pointers. I already had Tuna asking this morning on behalf of who he insists is a client that would sooner remain anonymous. The poor dude has to get tired eventually. No one’s got that much stamina, stud or no stud. Hey, pass me that spanner, dude.”

“Look, I don’t have time to talk to you.” and you’re not just being an asshole, for once. kankri just talks so much, and you know for a fact you’re going to be carrying half of this group project on your shoulders thanks to mituna’s less-than-hands-on approach (one could almost call it hands off).
