It was just after nightfall, the moonlight casting in from your window, shining right down on your bed. Peaceful nights like this were just the thing you needed to get your mind off your stressful days. Just you and your books or movies or anything, really. Finally, you had the freedom to decide what you would do. What you could see. What you could experience. But, on this chosen night, a little… surprise would later pop itself into your peaceful night.

After finishing the last chapter of your book, you heard strange noises from your window. You looked up to see the window shaking abnormally. It wasn’t rattling from any sort of wind of a stray tree branch. It was just shaking. Trembling. As if something wanted in. You yelped and jumped to the floor, scurrying under your bed. As you peaked out, you never would have quested who was looki right back at you from out of the window.

“Starlight! Reader! It’s me, Kaito Momota! Luminary of the stars!”

His voice sounded rather happy for someone who broke into your room. He clumsily crawled into the window, sitting on the edge.

“K-Kaito? What are you-“

“I know you may be wondering why I’m here, but it’s for a good reason, I promise! Come with me!”

He held out his hand to you, an invited smile adorning his face. If it would have been anyone else besides him, you would have said no immediately. Let alone if it was Kokichi, you probably would have pushed him out. But, this was Kaito. Luminary of the stars. If he ever broke into a window, it would be for a good reason. So, trusting your gut, you took his hand. He chuckled and hoisted you up on the windowsill. He helped you climb all the way to the roof, dangling his feet over the edge, his head leaning back up to the sky. You joined him, gazing at the shining stars and moon up above you both.

“The universe is so wide and so beautiful. It’s like you can just reach up and touch it.”

He reached up, as if grasping the stars and holding them in the palm of his hand.

“Yet, it’s billions of light years away. It could take many generations to reach them. But-“

He looked over to you, placing his hand on yours.

“That's what I’m going to do. And once I reach the moon, I’ll bring you back a moon rock!”

His smile. His bright smile, full of passion and unshakable determination put the moon and even the sun to shame. Even though you knew the likelihood of him attaining his life-long goal might be cut short, you still wanted to support him no matter what. Just like how he supports everyone in his life.

“Ah, I know that look.”

You freeze. ‘Does he really know what I’m thinking?!’

He just lets out one of his signature chuckles, looking back up to the stars.

“Just you see. I’ll get there. I know it.”

The hours felt this mere seconds as you stared into your 3DS, rapidly hitting the A button. The bright LED’s shone on your face, reflecting in your tired eyes. Your tired, tired eyes. But you couldn’t go to bed just yet, you just had to complete a few more stages of the game. Just a few more.

Even if the night felt so calming, and the wind blowing in from your opened window felt heavenly, and your warm bed was begging you to snuggle in and finally get some sleep. But no, you won’t give in so easily.

No matter what, you couldn’t sleep until you finished just a few more stages. Just a few. Your eyes, weak and heavy with tiredness, bore into the screen. All your senses focusing on the task that it could barely hassle doing. Until.

“Reaaadderrr~ I told you to go to bed early tonight!”

The sudden, alien voice broke any focus you once had on your game. You let out a loud scream, throwing your 3DS to the ground and almost falling off your bed.

“Ahhh!!! Geez, don’t scare me like that!”

He clutched his chest, mimicking the way you almost had a heart attack.

“W-Who’s there..” you rubbed your blurry eyes, focusing on the short, purple-haired guy ominously standing in your room. “Kokichi?! How did you-“

He cut you off

“Don’t worry about it! It’s not important! Nishinishi!~”

He closed the window and walked over to you, climbing on the bed and cupping your cheek to examine your face.

“Awww, you're so tired! How long have you been up? Aww~ This just won’t do!”

He shook his hand dramatically.

“Don’t worry! Your supreme leader is here to help!”

He wiggled under the covers and pulled you close to him. Honestly, if the night before Kokichi broke into your room was heaven, then this was true, absolute heaven. The purest form. He had one arm securely around your waist, gently rubbing your back. His other hand was in your hair, scratching your scalp light with his fingernails.

You felt your whole body suddenly relax, letting out a pent up sign.

“That’s it~ It's sleep time now, not game time.”

“Thank…. You…”

Those were the only words you were able to get out before your drifted off to sleep. Even after he realized you were asleep, he continued to pet you. Honestly, it was almost as relaxing for him as it was for you. He gave you a light kiss on the cheek.

“My second in command… no matter how many nights you try to stay up through, as long as I’m here, you will always go to sleep on time~ I love you.”

Nevertheless, you would not hear these sweet words he said to you. Which, in truth, was the reason why he waited to say them now. But, let’s just say, you may or may have not woken up to him saying sweet nothings in his sleep to you. <3

It was a late, relaxing night. The rustling of the trees outside created soothing, soft noises as they blew in the wind. The relaxing music that was playing on your phone only made it even more relaxing. There was just one problem.

You couldn’t get to sleep. No matter how hard you tried, your tired eyes didn’t even feel heavy. The cause of all your problems was your stubborn, unwavering insomnia.

You groaned, rolling over once again. It was beginning to get more and more annoying. You didn’t know how much more you could take. You were contemplating just staying up all night, until.

CRASH!

A huge sound came from down below your window, making you tense and whip around to face the noise. That’s when you locked eyes with a surprise visitor.

“Reader, are you awake? Hello!”

Akane waved at you, climbing in from the window.

“Wh-wha? Akane?! What are you doing in my room?!”

You said, thoroughly surprised.

“I was kinda worried about you. I remember you said today that you have insomnia, so I came to check on you!”

She gave you a smile. But, this one of her smiles showed sympathy. She knows how it feels to not be able to sleep. Sometimes after gymnastic events, she would be so incredibly sore, she couldn’t sleep for days. She really didn’t want you to go through that.

She sat at the edge of your bed

“Is there a way I can help?”

“Thank you, Akane. That’s.. honestly very nice of you. But, I have no idea. But I do know that if I lie in this bed for even one more minute, I’m going to go insane.”

She chuckled at your joke.

“Then how about we do some stretches? Maybe it will make it easier for you to get to be!”

“That… sounds like a great idea.”

You both got off of your bed and sat down on your carpet and began to do some simple stretches.

Nothing too complicated because she knew you weren’t that flexible. But pretty soon, you could tell you body and mind were feeling a lot more relaxed.

“This feels amazing, do you do this every night?”

“Haha, only some nights when I have so much energy that I can’t sleep. Oh! Here, let me show you an amazing stretching position to help you back!”

She helped you get into the position, which was a bit difficult due to your stiff body, but as soon as you did, you could feel all the pressure in your back dissipate. It felt amazing. While you were signing from the blissful thinking, Akane quickly leaned closer to your face and stole a short kiss. You then realized.

“Heyy! Did you make me do this position just to kiss me?”

“Hahaha, that’s half true! But, it’s also just a really good stretch position!”

You both finished stretching and sat down on your bed.

“How do you feel, Reader? Are you muscled all nice and relaxed now?”

She smiled at you brightly.

“Yes. I think I can finally get some sleep now.”

Your eyes were surprisingly heavy and your body felt heavenly.

“Then that means I’ve completed what I came here to do!”

She gave you one last kiss to the forehead.

“Goodnight, my lovely Reader~”

She was about to head back over to the window before you grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to the bed.

“Could you please… stay here with me?”

She paused in surprise, chuckling.

“Of course! Anything I can do to help you some more?
