What the hell? Bakura had been there when Mariku had left -- or whatever had happened to him after that duel. He supposed it wasn’t too outlandish that he had returned, just as the spirit had, but, being the creature Mariku was, he didn’t think it was possible for him to come back.

So why was he here?

Being able to stand physically face-to-face with Ryou was bizarre. He was so used to seeing everything from the boy’s eyes, only getting a glimpse of his face if Ryou chose to stand in front of a mirror. While tempted to approach, he wasn’t sure how the other felt about him anymore. He wasn’t sure how long it had been ever since he had been defeated either-- it’d felt like thousands of years all over again. But Ryou was still alive and still seemed young, so, clearly, it hadn’t been that long.

Christ his head hurt. Blinking a few times to reorient himself, Bakura shifted to try to get up and figure out just what the hell had happened. The last thing he’d known was that he was immersed in total darkness, and now, suddenly, here he was -- back in the very same dimension he’d departed from gods knew how long ago.

A quick look around his surroundings led him to take notice of what appeared to be a man not too far off. Considering there was no one else in sight, he decided to go confront him without caution.
