Vartouhi licked her dry, bleeding lower lip as she felt someone tugging at the bindings around her wrists, slowly opening her eyes to find a very stony-faced Jongdae in front of her. He muttered to her that he was sorry she'd been taken, and she huffed out a quiet laugh, wanting to tell him it was her own fault. If she weren't such an idiot, agreeing to drink Earthen alcohol, she wouldn't have been so vulnerable when the thugs showed up to haul her away. Now she was too weak to free herself, having gone days without water, food, or sunlight. The alcohol having been the last thing she ingested, the remnants still burned through her hydrotubules, making her entire person ache.
The door banged open and the leading thug that had smacked her around came through the door, two of his lackeys following behind. They were quick to rush at Jongdae, and as they scuffled, she squirmed, attempting to summon up enough power to try to help. As soon as her eyes flickered with their glowing white light, the leader lifted his gun, aiming directly at her and barking out an order for her to stop. She didn't listen, managing to throw one lackey off Jongdae with her power. The other stumbled, too confused at his partner's sudden flying back, and Jongdae got in a good hit just as the leader yelled "DIE!" at Vartouhi.
One moment she was staring at the gun, trying as best as she could to push him against the far wall of the hallway behind him. The next, there was the sound of several rounds of gunfire, and Jongdae had rushed into her line of vision. Red spurted from each wound and once the barrage ended, he slumped forward against her, breathing erratically. Like something had flipped a switch in her, her eyes surged with light and she screamed. Her power lashed out, thrashing all three thugs around the room, slamming them into the wall, ceiling, and floor alike.
It only died down after their impacts started to leave significant amounts of blood behind, and she panted hard. Her gaze dropped to Jongdae and she struggled out of her loosened bindings, quickly working to untie herself fully. "Don't die--" she begged, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks. "Hold on, please-- I'll get us out, just hold on--"
