Canon Cass: Gothel Gothel Gothel Gothel Gothel- My entire motivation is because I’m mad Rapunzel was raised in an abusive household by a woman who held her hostage for 18 years but that’s RAPUNZEL’S fault because that abusive woman should have raised ME. Rapunzel got my mother’s “love” instead of me so I’m gonna repeatedly attempt to kill her and victim blame her every chance I get. I sure do love my mother Gothel and she sure loved me probably. Yep. My motivation is sound. What class system?

he wants to be a hero so badly, and he is so self-assured that he will be one, despite the fact that he is absolutely no one’s hero.

he has a quirk that is good for fighting; therefore he must fight. fighting is something that is done by a hero; therefore he must become a hero. a hero is someone who never stops fighting. bakugou never stops fighting; therefore he will become the number one hero.

while he may become a reputable figure in the Heroics business, i find it hard to see bakugou becoming a hero. oh he’ll fight, apprehend criminals, but as someone who will inspire people? lead people? drive passion and life into the hearts of the public?

absolutely not.

he may save lives, but he won’t enrich someone’s life. he may reduce crime but won’t save people from the torment inside of themselves. he may fight the perpetrators, but he won’t fight their ideologies. compared to the motivations and aspirations of everyone else in bnha, bakugou’s goals seem almost...asinine.

his personality has no basis other than a superiority complex stemming from a society that puts weight on inborn abilities. it’s said multiple times that bakugou appreciates hard work and tenacity, but when it comes to midoriya’s unwavering resolve, he disregards this value in favour of his quirk.

he values physical prowess over being a good person (being a hero).

bakugou torments midoriya for no good reason. he shouts profanities and disrespects anyone he meets. any conflicting opinions that come his way are met with arrogance and an unhealthy dose of scorn.
