Я шагаю по Москве (1964)
Я шагаю по Москве (1964) Dir. Georgiy Daneliya
In order to makes my self get used to Russian prounication and language, lately i’ve been trying to watch several movies from russia. however, I find it rather difficult for me to find my favourite piece of movie, either the plot are too slow, uninteresting in term of theme, i mostly dropped the movie before the first 60 minutes.
Hence, my finished Russian Movies curently only Russkiy Khovcek (Russian Ark), The Barber of Siberia, and Chekist. but, thanks god this week i found Я шагаю по Москве (1964) Directed by Georgiy Daneliya.. Perhaps this is so far the best and fresh USSR Movie that i have been watched. Following a one day plot of walking arround in moscow, this is the kind of movie that i have been trying to search all these time.
This movie giving me the Midnight in Paris and Before Sunrise vibe but in a comedy way. fresh jokes and a simple well craved character, and it’s interesting music score, giving us the most spirited way to see Moscow in the time of 60s with all of it’s vibrant and dynamics force. I feel transported into the movie right away in the first 10 minutes.
if there’s a phrases of “ to be on paris inthe rain”, then for me this movie giving me some new idea of phrases about moscow:
“to be in moscow in it’s rain, sunny, night, and vibrant day”
my favourite movie so far in Russian language!
ps: I REALLY LOVEE the moscow train station scene at the end!! the songs and the ambience, feels way too good to be true.
