2024 hardcourt king and queen btw
In all seriousness we really should be prioritising the health of the players and empathasing TO THE PLAYERS that their health comes first. After Jack puked the second time the umpire was trying to give him some time to recover and possibly a mto from the looks of it but Jack declined. I don't really care that Jack declined(he's an athlete with the best opportunity of his life rn) my problem is with the comms complimenting and praising him and the audience positively responding, confirming to him and all other athletes that destroying your body is the 'good' thing and the 'right' thing. The longevity of his body(his BODY! not the longevity of his CAREER!) is the most important thing and I wish so so SO badly that sport treated that fact as true.
GUYS !!! (via @.christianscourt)
