Peter went to sleep that night like any normal night, but when he woke up he was in Avengers Tower... behind a desk with his name on it. A woman in a blue jacket looks at him with a half confused, half concerned face. "You okay Petey?Not like you to nod off mid shift..." Liquid metal grows into a gauntlet around her hand as a red light scans him over. "You're not sick..." Her look of worry turns to a smirk. "Did you go out last night?"

"Uh–" he starts, standing as he's scanned. Seeing as nothing is immediately shot at him afterwards, he decides she isn't an immediate threat and looks around. Avengers Tower? How did he get here? Oh, please don't let this be another nightmare about how I gave up being Spider-Man and Goblin took over the world. I don't want to do that again.
Given the knowing smirk he's getting, maybe, thankfully, that isn't the situation. "Go out? Nah, why would I?" he denies. He really didn't. He went to bed and this is how the universe(s?) repaid him! He opens his mouth, a second away from asking about the very interesting detail that currently is the gauntlet on the woman's hand, but he pauses. Should I know that already? Should I know her? She called me Petey! He has no idea how to play this. He'd have a better response if she freaked out and asked what he's doing here. He glances down at himself, making sure that this is, in fact, his body—and that he's not in his pajamas. Maybe it's a body swap situation.
"W– did you need something?" he asks, leaning on the desk—and maybe subtly wiping his drool off the desk, who's to say? "Or are you just making sure I'm not sleeping on the job?" he adds playfully. She said that, right? I'm on a shift? A job at Avengers Tower. There's no way this is right. He's never woken up in a different universe before, but this life definitely is not his and he, in half asleep brilliance, decided to play along to gather more intel. Curse Fury and his training.

Not immediately spotting one, he crouches down, reaching his hand out to offer pets, but allowing Alpine to close the gap between her and his hand; he's learned from numerous patrols and alley cats that it isn't smart to just go for it. "What's up lil' guy?"

Not quite. Spiders are arachnids, same with ticks and scorpions, therefore not insects
