hiya im joany. ❤ my friend kika likes to stim (at home and in public). she hasnt got any bad reaction from strangers for stimming. she said she wants to buy a pacifier but people in our friend group are telling her she shouldnt. and that strangers will find it weird and stare at her or will think she's acting out some DD/LG kink which obviously isnt the case! i told her she can do what she wants, it's not harming anyone. strangers might stare but that goes with everything they aren't used to. ✌

I just want to start by saying that I think it is great that you’re so supportive of your friend. Ultimately, if stimming this way is the most effective for her, then I think she should go for it! Some strangers way find it unusual and she may experience some kind of negative response, but as long as she knows that she has the support of you and her other friends, I think it should be okay.
If she is concerned about using a pacifier in public, then there are a lot of different stim options. I have found a couple of websites that you can use to buy some stim toys; they have chewable jewellery, fidgets, and stress balls. I’m sure there are other websites and places to purchase toys but these are two that I have heard good things about.

Things like stress balls can be purchased from most local shops so maybe she could see if a stress ball is effective for her. Other things like small childrens toys could also be useful.
But, saying this, I think if using a pacifier is going to be most helpful for her, then I think she should definitely do that!
