Maybe I’m special. Or unlucky. But things that supposedly work intuitively for most users tend to fail spectacularly for me.
Joshua Joseph has no great hatred of modern technology. He just mistrusts the effortless textureless surfaces, and the ease with which it trains you to do things in the way most convenient to the machine.

Cello and Japanese cafes
Listening to a study w/ me @ a Japanese cafe and understand surprisingly a lot from my anime watching days ig. Was watching a Korean study w/ me and didn't understand nearly as much surprisingly! The cello is really distracting bc I enjoy it! Usually piano is distracting bc it's technically percussion but I know the cello songs so I enjoy them and pay more attention,

There's one thing noone can deny about Haken ContinuuMini - it's expressive like nothing else, and for that it is forgiven for everything else.
Like, changing the presets. Imagine you need to change from 1 to 28. First, you need to use both + and - buttons for this, and they are way too close to be operated with average-sized fingers simultaneously. Then, the fastest process looks like this: 1) you press + and hold, this brings you from 1 to 2 2) in less than half a second, before auto repeat kicks in, quickly press - 3 times, this brings you from 2 to 3 * 10 = 32 3) then you release both buttons and press - 4 times, this finally brings you to 28. And if you make a mistake, it will take much longer to recover. Now imagine having to do this within 1 or 2 bars, and you see how easy it is to screw up your performance.
Phew, rant mode off. My pet hate, I had to do this way too many times since morning already!
