The Ursids Meteor Shower Peaks Tonight The Ursids meteor shower is active annually between December 17 and December 24. The shower usually peaks around December 22-23. At its peak, observers may be able to view as many as 10 meteors in an hour, but this year, due to the Full Moon, the meteors will be obstructed. The radiant point of the Ursid meteor shower is the constellation Ursa Minor, or the Little Dipper. The meteors will be most frequent just before dawn. The particles of the meteor originated from the Comet 8P/Tuttle, which orbits the sun every 14 years. #starsandconstellations #meteorshower #ursids #astronomy #nightskywatching #milkyway Photo via Odissey https://www.instagram.com/p/BrsFPSXF07N/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1fv3m4e1owaoo
