Alright, so, Garcia and Morgan... I don't make it a point to watch Criminal Minds, but I'd watched several episodes over a period of time and had decided entirely on my own, given the evidence on the show, that they were in this comfortable, established relationship. So when someone told me they WEREN'T it's like the Earth shifted on its axis. Nothing made sense.
Sometimes I really don’t know how to parse the relationship between them. I’ve been watching this show since the beginning and their relationship really, really reads like it’s established and that it’s meant to be more than just flirting. If it were just the cute nicknames, well, okay, suspicious, but I could still see it as being intended to be gen.But the looks they give each other sometimes, the way the story often makes a point to show that they are incredible emotional touchstones in each others’ lives, the way their scenes are framed with really intimate body language, the way everything about their interaction screams ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP, I just… it’s baffling to me.I sincerely think that they don’t mean for it to be canon, that they’d deny it if you asked them, but I also just cannot wrap my mind around them not being an established romantic pairing. There’s this incredible disconnect and it’s super disconcerting and, yeah, nothing makes sense when you try to get it to make sense. You just… don’t think about it, I guess.
