“wanna get high?” ( @upiaer )
there’s a brief moment, a tiny split of a second in which she stops on her motions, and the set of keys used to lock up the store almost tumbles onto the ground as she nearly drops them alongside her bag. Truth is, she doesn’t really know what to make of Roman Godfrey – a part of her just wants to think he’s as unpleasant as his mother ( and he probably is, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree ); however, Jenny doesn’t want to be the kind of person who judges , especially when they will still have to see each other until one of them goes to college.
no hard feelings, Jenn – in the end, he didn’t ask for you to get fired.
“ you’re really trying to make it up to me getting fired by inviting me to snort coke in your house …? ” oh, she knows it’s cocaine ( like there is a single person in the town who doesn’t know about the Godfrey heir’s nasty habits ), and while a part of her wants to sock him in the mouth for such a taunting notion, she has come to the baffling realization that Roman actually means his invitation as a peace offer. Probably, she reasons, it’s how he’s used to acting – giving people shiny things that’ll make them feel good to keep them compliant.
“ as flattered as that makes me, I gotta get home early to cook dinner – sorry. ” is she really apologizing to him now for not accepting his invitation? That’s just lame, “ don’t worry, i’m not mad at you. it wasn’t your fault ... ” a heavy pause, she rubs her arms with the sleeve of her jacket, “ however, i’m pleasantly surprised that at least one godfrey has enough of a conscience to admit when they’ve screwed someone over. ”
