Hi, I read About The Project and it says "we are thinking the deadline will be some time in early 2021." So it is still possible to submit articles, right? Do you currently have an exact deadline? I'm worried that I'll not be able to finish the work before the end of the year. I hope to submit before the deadline. Thank you in anticipation for your reply.
Hi anon, thanks so much for your interest in the project! :) Itâs absolutely still possible (and welcome) for you to submit something! At this point, the deadline will definitely not be any sooner than mid-February 2021, and might extend into March or later as well, depending on what we hear about peopleâs timing needs.
The main reason we havenât set a new exact deadline yet is to make it easier for people who want to submit something, especially given the global health crisis. (Unfortunately this isnât the first time the flexible deadline has also caused confusion, so it has its positives and negatives. XD) If you want to submit something, we want to make that easily possible for you; we donât want the timeline to cause anyone stress! Weâd love to hear from you (same goes for anyone else reading this!) about what timeline will work best for you.
As a starting question, do you think youâll be able to finish easily by early February? (Totally okay if youâre not sure yet, or if your timeline changes as you work; feel free to keep in touch about later timeline changes/extensions if you need them!)

Submission Deadline Update
In view of the world health crisis, we are putting this projectâs initial submissions deadline of June 12 into soft focus.Â
We are not going anywhere! ⤠Our new spore-powered deadline gives more room to those who wish to participate and those of us organizing the project. You can still send your contributions of new or existing works to us at wearecaptaingeorgiou AT gmail DOT com, but the timeline of the project is now flexible, with probable weeksâ and monthsâ extensions to take into account our new reality.
We will keep you all updated on extensions and more concrete alterations to the schedule as we keep an eye on the changing circumstances. As this project goes forward, please feel welcome to reach out with any questions, and with any thoughts on what timeline alterations would be most helpful to you.
Stay safe, keep heart, and create on.
Tuesday 3.10.20 updateâbetween real life and the number of moving parts involved, weâre pushing the full project launch date back to tomorrow or Thursday rather than launching today. However, if you would like to send your submission in before that, youâre more than welcome to do so! Submission methods and guidelines (may be adjusted slightly before they are finalized, but core requirements are set) under the cut.
HOW TO SUBMIT
IMPORTANT NOTE: Sometimes emailed files fail to open, Tumblr is notorious for erasing submitted posts, and we may need to ask for adjustments to submissions that don't meet the project guidelines. We will send a confirmation email (or email you regarding adjustments) for each emailed submission we receive, and will post Tumblr submissions and works tagged @ us (or message you regarding adjustments), within three days. If you havenât heard from us within three days, please assume your submission didnât come through and get in touch!
Submissions can be sent to wearecaptaingeorgiou AT gmail DOT com, tagged @ us, or submitted to this blog. Since Tumblr submissions/uploads can affect image quality, email is preferable for image submissions. If you submit via email, we encourage you to also post on social media to spread the word, and tag us so we can reblog and show off your work (please remember to still check for a confirmation email if you do so!)
To make this project more accessible, image submissions will have image descriptions added when they are posted on this blog, and in the images + image descriptions version of the final downloadable PDF. Writing your own image description when submitting is not required, but helpful. (Please note that we may edit image descriptions for length and clarity.)
Email us for a parent/guardian consent form for any submissions from anyone younger than 15.
When you send your submission, please specify any, all or none of the following as your credit: first name, online username(s), country. For example, âAnn,â âAnonymous,â âAnonymous, Uruguay,â â@AnnsTwitterHandle,â âAnn, @AnnsTwitterHandle, Uruguay,â and so on. We will default to âAnonymousâ if you do not specify how you wish to be credited.Â
WHAT TO SUBMIT
Submissions can be messages to the creators, personal anecdotes, your favorite Captain Georgiou quote and why, essays and meta/analysis, or any other type of fanwork (except fanfic and its close equivalents), such as art, cosplay, crafts and handiworks, poetry, recipes, floral arrangements, manicure/nail art, song lyric photo edits, moodboards (please use images that are cc0 or used with permission of the image author), or anything else than can be printed!
We encourage you to submit work in formats that can be printed in the book! However, if you have other content formats such as gifs that youâd like to submit to the project, we will host these in a tag on this blog and include its URL in the book.
All languages welcome.
Keep content safe for work. This keeps this project accessible to more fans--and, anyone involved with the showâs production is quite literally at work.
Do not use language that is bigoted, prejudiced, hateful or makes harmful assumptions about any person or group of people.
Do not conflate actors with characters.
You are more than welcome to submit previously-posted work! If you do so by email, in addition to your email please send us a message directly from the originally-posting account (or add a note to the original post along the lines of âContributing this to the Philippa Georgiou fanbook!â) so that we know weâre including it in the book with the original creatorâs approval.
Length & Multiple Submissions: No minimum (feel free to send just one sentence!) You are welcome to contribute multiple submissions, and we do not have a firm maximum per-work length; however, any contributorâs total submission(s) should max out at approximately two pages of the book (think two printer-size/8.5x11â sheets of paper, about 1500 words or 10.000 characters for text).Â
