I think because syphilis has limited antigenicity (doesn't provoke an immune response), AND if we accept that vampirism must sustain at least some bacteria to maintain functioning bodily systems despite the cold dry body of a vampire, the vampirism disease may mistake syphilis for part of the body and fortify the tetronema pallidum bacteria and make it also immortal. So vampires could still get syphilis. And if left untreated or allowed to reach tertiary stage, would just continue to develop and ruin the body slowly, incurable, while your body persists in keeping you alive.
