Personalized Disney Princess Cross-Stitch Birthday Present
This piece has a strange story. I started it several years ago hoping one of my acquaintances would have a girl. None did. Everyone kept having baby boys. Nothing wrong with boys, but I’ve got a pile of baby girl patterns I’d like to make someday. (One reason I got on Etsy was to make the pieces I cannot give away. When you have no friends, it’s tough. Anyway...) So, I finished the top half and folded it up.
A few months ago my cleaning lady brought one of her grandkids with her and she said she liked the Disney princesses, so I showed it my cleaning lady and she suggested I finish it for her grand-daughter’s birthday. I did and she claimed that her grand-daughter LOVED it. So, I glad that I kept it instead of trying to sell the partially finished piece on Etsy.
I bought the frame from a charity shop and it was a plain oak when I began. The acrylic really did not want to go on the frame, so it took at least 6 coats to make it appear even. I added the polka dots to distract the eye from some of the unevenly applied areas.
