It looked as though a battle had occurred. This wasn't all that far from the truth.

The ground was littered with elemental crystals of various sizes. The larger of which jutted out of the ground in a way that tinted the first rays of the rising sun.

The ground was littered with bodies. Not all of them soldiers. Not all of them were dead. They could not all be dead.

A slight figure walked around the field slowly, stopping to check each of them carefully. The living received what care she could grant them from what limited supplies she had on hand. The dead received only a silent attempt at prayer. Silent hope that they could find peace in the lifestream.

It had been like this for several hours. And yet, it felt as though she had not done enough.

The slight figure pushed a few errant strands of hair out of her face, the act painting the side of her face with a thin stream of blood.

"You've been out here for quite some time, young miss." A kind voice called out to her.

The figure looked up and up to see an older female elezen. She was being watched with eyes filled with concern.

The older woman approached her with small and careful steps, a blanket in one arm and a medical kit in the other. "Pray let me help you."

The figure kept her eyes steady on the elezen's face. She seemed to be looking for something. Her own gaze was off in the middle distance and she seemed tired.

"My name is Marguerite." She continued speaking as she put down the medical kit and gently wrapped the blanket over the small figure's shoulders. "What is yours?"

The question seemed to cause the figure further confusion. "I... don't know." She said quietly, her voice gravely from lack of use. For a moment she could not help but wonder the last time she had heard her own name. Or the last name she had been called while in involuntary service.

"I see. Perhaps it would help to get your wounds seen to and some food in you, my friend."

"Friend?" The figure parroted, head tilting.
