Not anyone who still likes Dream lmao, all the other crit blogs hate his guts
Trump and melania both tested positive for covid, like to charge and reblog to cast for covid to end them
Unsavory!!!
No ok but I donât like the guy, he has pickpocketed my sims numerous times and got away with it every time >:(
I do like the fact that he like-likes Mrs. Crumplebottom, but I would probably ship it even more if he wasnât such a sneak~
But yeah thatâs about it
hello i just followed you so please pardon me if this is a âyes no shitâ moment but have you read the essay monster theory by jeffrey jerome cohen? if so what did you think?
Yes, I have! Itâs probably one of my favourite essays on monsters and the collection it comes from is amazing. (One of the other contenders would be Allen S. Weissâ âTen Theses on Monsters and Monstrosityâ: also, googling this I found he also wrote a book called Feast and Folly: Cuisine, Intoxication, and the Poetics of the Sublime, which I need to get my hands on immediately.) I should amend the last ask and add it. I donât know if I have any particular thoughts aside from âI would eat this like Anne Carson tried to eat Lives of the Saints as a childâ but I love the ending:

matelliâs sculpture work with the fruit is about the duality of âaccelerated entropy and arrested entropyâ (artistâs words)!! in juxtaposing a deliberately worn down figure with pristine, immortal fruit heâs trying to insinuate a dialogue about eternal youth and decay. also the fruit is just painted aluminum and is lowkey terrifyingly realistic
Ah, thanks for telling me about the artistâs intent! Iâm one of those people who will try to read every plaque in a museum, so I appreciate the info. Rambling based on a contextless picture is probably not the best idea!Â
I suppose I would appreciate some of these works more if I saw them in person⌠I went to an exhibition of Abstract Expressionists recently, and the difference between photos and what I could see in person was extraordinary, in terms of the variation of color, the details of paint application (I love impasto), and the size/scale of the works. Itâs interesting that you can see some artworks much better in person; whereas with others (like tiny cameos or a black-figure vase protected behind glass), high-resolution images can provide greater detail and a more accurate look at the work. Â
