the only actual part on a trans character (and indeed women at all think?) in this report briefly thereafter is a woman described with "he" pronouns and that "he finds he'd rather live in a woman body", then heard in an in-character conflict with her (until then) partner/girlfriend/wife? (presumably cis) who accuses her of everything between them having been a lie.

finding the word unmarked for wording such as unmarked default or 'women/men/misogyny/cissexism/{anything}' unmarked (relevantly with any choice of quote marks, or none) may have been one of the best improvements in wording that i found in a year or so. only one word, its usages here are very versatile, alike the Other which can be a complement to that which is unmarked.

to mention, the appended usage isn't only for amending quoted wording. entirely original wording for example about women unmarked as a group can be used. this is denotationally the same as writing about all women as a group, while signalling that this is an unmarked usage. this can help a reader to understand this reading as relevantly inclusive, such as that it includes even cis women. (more to the point, that it includes trans women.) it's not an end-all be-all, but it has its uses in communicating well.

I am not one to necessarily ascribe any experiences to anyone. To any authors or characters, or to any other people. However, likewise we should not /rule out/ specific experiences where they are not doubtlessly contradicted by our current knowledge. Defaulting or resorting to such dismissal is ascribing something to them, as well.
