Unknown Artist, 'The Three Graces', oil on panel, presumably French, no date (16th century), currently in the collection of the Louvre on long term loan from the National Museums Recovery Office, Paris, France.
The Louvre reports this work was 'exchanged' with the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg in Paris for a Gaugin and two Matisse paintings, in 1942, and transferred to the Louvre in 1950. The ERR was a Nazi organisation which claimed many works of art and other cultural materials - in particular Jewish and Freemasons collections.
