And the fame continues...
Have you found you cupcake picture?
Great memories. Great event.
Great cupcakes.Â
The "After-Lecture-Party"
Free cupcakes from the Westminster Accounting and Management Society were a given -super yummy!
And also Johnny Earle did an amazing job by patiently signing shirts, booklets ... and taking countless pictures with his "fans". He actually appears to me like a little popstar. Not only that he loves to be the cheeky centre of attention, people are queueing as if Justin Bieber is around. Well, maybe not quite as much but how would I know, my teenage days are over ;)
Johnny Cupcakes pop-up bakery at Westminster
Certainly, Johnny didn't come without bakery staff erm.. stuff. There was lots to see and buy -including the "Do more of what makes you happy"-t-shirt.
Cupcakes make me happy :)
Johnny Earle talks about what he likes and dislikes.
He presents his "Do more of what makes you happy"-philosophy and talks business.
This is London Calling.
This is The Cheekiness of Hull 'Kid at Heart' and yes, he has got a cockroach in his nose. That's what he does. There's nothing wrong with it. it makes him happy.
This file is a mix (and match as the British say) of bits from his lecture at the University of Westminster and the interview we did after the lecture.

"Do more of what makes you happy" -Johnny Cupcakes at the University of Westminster
Johnny Earle is a freak and I love him. He's cheeky and plays tricks on people. He's fun. He's from Hull -nope, not England, Massachusetts.
On Wednesday, 6th March 2013, he delivered a lecture at the University of Westminster. Basically, he told the whole Cupcakes story.
It all started when he was touring with his hardcore metal band (hard to believe): he wore his first Cupcakes t-shirts and people got curious. They started to ask him where they could buy these t-shirts. Clever Johnny smelled money. He had been successful in  selling candies. Actually, he left his drug-selling friends in the dust. And -after some risks and obstacles- Johnny's t-shirts should become his breakthrough.
You might not even know the multi-million brand Johnny Cupcakes. Fact is, Johnny is as popular as a celebrity. When he opened his first European store/bakery in London two years ago, people were queueing for about 24hrs just to get one of his limited t-shirts (he never produces the same design again).
Johnny Earle lives his dream. It was hard work and learning disabilities (about which he is honest and open) did not make it easier. He likes to share his experiences -and yes he loves to be centre of attention! Besides being 45min late -well, that's what celebrities do, isn't it- he was incredibly friendly and patient. He loves interacting with his customers and tries to inspire student, hoping they learn from his mistakes -like selling itchy powder and then getting suspended from school because one 'victim' was allergic to it.
I think I am not exaggerating when I claim that Johnny Earle and his Cupcakes got more attention than most usual lectures at Westminster. It was entertaining, inspiring and I learnt a lot about doing (the right) business. -I don't think I could handle that many Cupcakes every day though.
Thanks to the University of Westminster and its Accounting & Management Society for baking this event possible.
