Do you get annoyed by people who don't care about anything?

I have friends that I am honestly trying so hard to enthuse about anything that is happening around us (about art, theatre, music, politics, about culture, about religions, history, sports, the news etc.).

They think that everything is useless, that it isn't important in life etc. One of those friends yelled at me a few days ago because I said to her that protestant and orthodox church are not the same, because she said that in Serbia there are protestants (I think that this is general knowledge - and something an intelectual should know). She said that she has enough general knowledge and that she will use her time more usefully than reading or educating herself on that kind of topic...

I am so annoyed by that kind of behaviour because when I start a discussion on a topic that they don't know anything about, they dismiss it as "boring", "stupid", "useless" etc.

I understand that we have different interests and different goals in life. But I am horrified by that kind of approach to learning, studying and discussing different topics by students that are taking one of the hardest courses at the best Uni in our country.
