To find sources for unit II, I largely relied on the VCU Libraries search and used articles available online. I used many search criteria, including "blog* AND self*" and "blog* AND identity AND social*", which were two of the most helpful. Truncating words proved to be a helpful tool-- thanks for the tip, librarians!

Many of the articles I retrieved were from psychology or adolescent development journals, understandably. Others were from technology or information/communication periodicals.

Everyone has this tendency, thinking about what they will do before others. What one person does for them self will eventually be seen by others but it is always going to be what will "I" do before thinking about others. It isn't necessarily selfish nor greedy it is simply nature. As human beings we have grown to always have that selfish part of us get the best of us. Throughout history, no matter what culture no matter what morals, people have a sense of wanting to do what they want to do specifically. We all have wants and needs, so why think of what would happen to others before yourself?
