I am a currently a Computer Science major trying to complete IGETC. I have calculated that if I complete IGETC I will have about 67 units on my record; this is excluding my 24 or so units from my AP scores. When I transfer will I have 91 units or will I have 67 on my record? Also...will this mean I have too many credits when I transfer? I saw the UC guidelines, but I don't understand their phrasing exactly.
91 semester units, although your records will indicate the number of units completed via AP and the number of units completed via college coursework.
Please refer to #6 on our FAQ.
You won’t have “too many” units unless you've completed college coursework outside of the California Community Colleges System.Â
Even if you currently have 70 semester units (of California community college coursework) completed or to be completed by the end of Spring 2015, additional courses you take won’t add on to those 70 semester units. You still receive subject credit for the courses (e.g. social sciences requirement on the IGETC).
