I first heard of Universal Language from your LB review and I was delighted to finally see it today! It's really cool you got to see the Q&A with the director too! Any interesting or unexpected tidbits from that event you could share? (I know kind of an unfair question since it was a while ago) I'm so glad I went to see it in the theater bc I know my own bad habits, I wouldn't have paid attention as much at home, and it deserves one's full attention. Anyway thanks again for hipping me to the movie! I really enjoyed it.
OHHHH this makes me so happy!!! I saw your Letterboxd review and I’m glad it resonated with audiences elsewhere, it really is such a charming little film. I don’t remember much from the Q&A but I do recall the filmmakers say how interesting it was that audiences in Winnipeg and Tehran both felt it perfectly captured the essence of each of their cities. We all have more in common than we realize.
I hope more people check out this gem, I need to find a copy so I can share it with more people - but I’m so glad to hear you liked it!
EDIT: Ooh this person remembered much more than I did from the Q&A they attended!
