and I remembered an urban legend in my town. It’s almost completely forgotten, but I found it while looking for haunted places in my area. It’s called “Zombie Road” and it's now a nature trail right next to a elementary school. Legend has it that the road goes past the train-tracks that are MUCH farther down the road, and leads to a Mental Hospital that was burned down/ destroyed a long time ago, I think shortly after the Civil War. Anyway, they say that multiple spirits haunt the road, but not just the Mental Hospital Patients, but also a mother and I think a nurse. I learned about this more than a couple of years ago, and haven’t gotten into is since, so my memory of the spirits of Zombie Road isn’t as good. Anyway, they say that the spirits come out at night, but I think they like to screw with some in the daytime.
Anyway, it was late in the afternoon on a sunday. I was in the 6th grade, and I had gotten my grandparents to take me to Zombie Road before they took me home. I felt like going through hell. I kept getting the feeling that I was being watched. I saw figures in the woods, but they were so far away (and my eyesight was bad when it came to things far away, even with glasses on) I never got a good look. I felt an invisible hand touch me, or a body that wasn’t there bump into me. Something even moaned in my ear. We didn’t go far down the path. Hell, I think the original trail is about 2, 3, hell, maybe even 4 miles long, and we only got close to the first mile. We then had to leave, due to it getting late. While I do like Zombies, that scared 6th-grade-me for the rest of the school year, and this happened in late October, early November. Whatever happened down there, I’m sure was real.
