A welcomed guest? | A common Intruder
Waking up to a bright new day ahead can be greeted by many things such as blurry vision, creaking bones, and even a tad disoriented as one gets their bearings. Now pretend that youâre a one Grillby Ignatius slowly waking up from a slumbering state only to feel something touching you. Squinting as he looked up at the blurred ceiling, that feeling of something
moving
on him seemingly crept across his chest. He wasnât afraid but concerned, and confused really. What had managed to make itâs way into his home? Why was it touching him? And where was his shirt? He knew he had one of his shirts on before bed, he was never one to sleep without clothing covering him. He made his move to sit up. It wasnât too jarring as to be enough momentum to fling whatever it was off of him at great speeds, but enough to give whatever it was a right good startling. Lo and behold what fell to the blanket that pooled at his legs were two eggs paired with two sausages. What? Why? Lifting his head from the mess that now rested on his comforter, Grillby almost instantly clocked who it was that just used him like an stove top. He wasnât mistaken in their identity as they were quite the creature. Yes it seemed it was none other than Plum, the newest arrival around these parts that heâd offered board to. Letting his palms slide out from behind him, being that they were supporting him while he sat up. Grillby let himself fall back into a bed with an worn out sigh before moving to cover his face with his hands to just mentally prepare for the mess he was likely to meet in his kitchen. Sometimes he pondered why he never instantly assumed something that was missing, stolen, âborrowedâ or broken wasnât Plumâs doing. It was likely the kindness he held for most anyone he was around that kept him in the mindset of giving the benefit of the doubt. That still didnât mean he shouldnât talk about using him like some appliance or lesser flame. Did Plum mean to insult or offend him in that manner? Likely not, she was probably hungry. Ugh, he needed to get up before she decided to eat the walls or something equally as plausible. Scooping what remained of the food he chucked them into his mouth for ease of cleaning before shifting to move the blankets off of himself then moved to stand. Grabbing his glasses from the nightstand he peered around the room for where his buggy guest had gotten herself to. âPlum?â He called out softly if just to indicate he wasnât angry or disappointed but used to this bizarre interaction. âIâm going to prepare us some breakfast, would you like to partake in that or would you happen to not be hungry?â Looking upwards at the ceiling then around the room he simply sighed as he made his way to dress for the morning ahead of him. First thing first, breakfast to tame the wild beast.Â
