Hoy les presento a los padres de Liuz!Gaster: ¡Diana y Manfred!
Recuerdo que en su momento, en Twitter, me reí del hecho de haber pensado tanto en la vida de Liuz que terminé creando unos padres con personalidades tan bien definidas para su historia, y es que siempre consideré que su crianza era una parte importante de su desarrollo.
Quizás la mayoría de las personas se quedarían en ese paso: pensar en los padres de sus OCs y definir un par de cosas sobre su infancia. Pero yo... Bueno, aquí me tienen, haciendo pequeños dibujos sobre ellos como si no fueran menos que personajes terciarios en mi historia (˶• ε •˶).
Naturalmente, volqué un montón de cosas que me gustan en su dinámica de pareja: el personaje alto, frío, que lleva las riendas de la relación pero que demuestra su amor a su manera, junto al personaje bajito, amoroso, seguro de sí mismo y que solo fluye con su pareja mientras la ama intensamente. Con el plus de darle la vuelta a los roles: que la alta sea la mujer y el hombre sea el bajito. Soy predecible, ya se podrán imaginar que he leído mucho manga BL por un buen tiempo, ¡jaja! Pero mientras más escribo sobre ellos más únicos se vuelven para mí.
Pensar en una mujer manipuladora, metódica y de palabras afiladas sintiendo un amor profundo por un pancito dulce me hace reír siempre. Un corazón de hielo reclamando como su rey a un hombrecito panzón... ¿qué más puedo pedir yo?
Y al mismo tiempo, pensar en ese hombrecito volviéndose loco por una mujer dominante y encantadora, gritando a los cuatro vientos su admiración por ella, es aún mejor.
Es como ver un reflejo de Gómez y Morticia de La Familia Addams. No me inspiré en ellos directamente, pero encajan perfectamente con algunos de mis gustos, jaja.
A Liuz no le incomodan especialmente las muestras de afecto que sus padres se dan a cada rato, después de todo creció viendo eso, pero le avergüenza profundamente escuchar a su madre hablar sin filtro sobre su relación. Ella es tan orgullosa como desvergonzada, y no puedo evitar que me guste eso de ella.
Cambiando un poco de tema, ambos son de familias de un alto estatus social, pero es Diana quien destaca al venir de una familia de científicos muy reconocidos en el pasado. Aunque ella no cumplió con las expectativas al desviarse del camino de la ciencia, decidió que, en cambio, fuera su hijo quien continuara con la tradición familiar, siendo el primero en generaciones en devolver el prestigio familiar que se había perdido con el tiempo.
Mi señora es un tanto cuestionable en sus actos y no se merece ni de lejos lo que tiene hoy en la actualidad. Forjó un molde inflexible en el que Liuz debía encajar desde una edad muy temprana, y aunque su padre era un apoyo emocional excelente, eso no quitaba el hecho de que hacía la vista gorda a las manipulaciones de su esposa hacia su hijo.
Son una pareja envidiable, pero no son buenos padres.

Today I'm introducing you to Liuz's parents: Diana and Manfred!
I remember back in the day, on Twitter, I laughed at the fact that I thought so much about Liuz's life that I ended up creating parents with such well-defined personalities for his story, because I've always considered his upbringing to be an important part of his development.
Maybe most people would stop at that step: thinking about their OCs' parents and defining a couple of things about their childhood. But me... Well, here I am, making little drawings of them as if they weren't anything less than tertiary characters in my story (˶• ε •˶).
Naturally, I just put a bunch of things I like into their dynamic as a couple: the tall, cold character who takes the reins of the relationship but shows their love in their own way, alongside the short, affectionate, self-assured character who just flows with their partner while loving them intensely. With the added twist of reversing the roles: the tall one being the woman and the short one being the man. I'm predictable, you can probably imagine I've read a lot of BL manga for a long time, haha! But the more I write about them, the more unique they become to me.
Thinking about a manipulative, methodical woman with sharp words feeling deep love for a sweet little bun always makes me laugh. An icy heart claiming a chubby little man as her king... what more could I ask for?
And at the same time, thinking about that little man going crazy for a dominant and charming woman, shouting his admiration for her from the rooftops, is even better.
It's like seeing a reflection of Gomez and Morticia from The Addams Family. I wasn't directly inspired by them, but they fit some of my preferences perfectly, haha.
Liuz isn't particularly uncomfortable with the displays of affection his parents show each other all the time, after all, he grew up seeing that, but he's deeply embarrassed by hearing his mother speak without a filter about their relationship. She's as proud as she is shameless, and I can't help but love that about her.
Switching topics a bit, both come from families of high social status, but it's Diana who stands out by coming from a family of highly renowned scientists in the past. Although she didn't meet expectations by deviating from the path of science, she decided that, instead, her son would be the one to continue the family tradition, being the first in generations to restore the family prestige that had been lost over time.
My lady is somewhat questionable in her actions and doesn't deserve by any means what she has today. She forged an inflexible mold that Liuz was supposed to fit into from a very early age, and although his father was an excellent emotional support, that didn't change the fact that he turned a blind eye to his wife's manipulations toward their son.
They're an enviable couple, but they're not good parents.
