📺📚 Why does The Sims 2 Undeclared Major Actually Make Sense?
The last of the majors! The undeclared major is one everyone has to live through - atleast for a time. Let's see if it makes sense to declare the undeclared!
The video explores how the undeclared major in The Sims 2: University is more than just a placeholder. It’s a tongue-in-cheek reflection of real-life college experiences—especially the early uncertainty, curiosity, and existential dread that come with starting university life.
The autor explains that every Sim starts college without a declared major—mirroring how many real students begin their academic journey. Over four semesters, Sims follow an undeclared path with class names that parody academic tropes while capturing the emotional rollercoaster of freshman year.
Freshman Semester 1 – “The World: A survey of everything that ever happened”
A humorous take on overambitious survey courses, this title highlights the overwhelming feeling of entering college and confronting the vast unknown.
Freshman Semester 2 – “Academic Argument: Beyond "did not, did too"”
By referencing playground squabbles, this course title contrasts childish arguments with formal academic debate, pointing out how structured reasoning builds on everyday conflict.
Sophomore Semester 1 – “Workshop: Writing more goodly”
The deliberate grammatical error mocks early writing struggles and shows how improvement comes through practice and embracing imperfection.
Sophomore Semester 2 – “Intro to Philosophy: Your insignificant place in the universe”
This class captures the classic existential crisis students face when first encountering philosophy. It also serves as a subtle in-game nudge toward choosing philosophy as a major—especially if the Sim remains undecided.
Because the undeclared major touches on multiple subjects, Sims must build a wide range of skills. This mirrors real-life general education programs, where students sample different fields before narrowing their focus.

"I swear that I wasn't looking for much But that's just when you happened That's right when you happened Got so damn close to packing it up But that's just when you happened And then you happened"- Gracie Abrams
Two years ago today I had no idea that the movie I threw on Netflix was going to change my life. In those two years I've watched Triple Frontier five times, worked on an original novel idea inspired by it, written and published six fanfics (first time writing fanfiction in four years), joined a Tumblr group and have made some amazing new mutuals, and went to my first conversation in five years to meet two members of the cast. It's hard to put into words what this movie means to me as I've been writing versions of this post on my mind for weeks now. But I'll leave you with the fact that these arrived today and I think it says a lot about how both this movie and its cast have wormed their way into being a big part of my life.
