This month, @thelaurenshippen talks to Liz Neeley, co-founder of Unbreaking, founder of Liminal, and science communicator extraordinaire. She and the team at Unbreaking are doing the incredibly important work of tracking all the ways that the current administration is breaking our government. It's the antidote to the 24 hour doom scroll cycle and a place to learn what's actually going on.

Happy holidays everyone. I updated last night, and this one has a scene dear to me.
Chapter 26: Bailing Wire
Hancock addresses the remnants of the tunnel between Goodneighbor, and Romanov leaves him a calling card. When they finally reunite, at his office door before sunrise, he believes she is there on business. Her heart, however, is in a far more tender place.
Read the update.
Read from the start.
Hi friends! Did I lie? Here's my longest chapter of my fic yet! Within lies some arguments, some spice, and some romance.
Chapter 24: Party Down
In Goodneighbor, Hancock faces the toll that his time with Romanov has taken on his people, his health, and that feeling inside him every time he looks at her that is becoming more and more impossible to set aside. Romanov brings a reporter and a detective into the fold.

So to be personal, I'm undergoing a diagnosis for ADHD and it's made me reflect on the way I write Romanov's character, and how quick she is to try and learn how to repair a fridge, or build a root cellar, or whatever else. How she jumps from thing to thing was really a reflection of how honed in I get on a task.
Anyways, I spent most of yesterday converting my written timeline (and relevant canon timeline) into Aeon, which I got a year or so ago.
For anyone curious, the only canon date I've messed with, as far as I can recall, is when McDonough becomes mayor - it has flow on effects for when Hancock leaves Goodneighbor, which I wanted to be quite young (21 in my timeline).
I've been pretty stringent about keeping my dates for the fic in the first place, because of the wild timeline of leaving the vault -> falling in love with a ghoul druglord in fancy dress (I want to acknowledge the chaos of it, but be vaguely realistic —if you spent every day with someone, and if you really needed someone, and if you had a connection and your ethics matched up, you could fall in love with them in a short time span! I'd be judgy as hell to witness it but that's besides the point)
And just for a bit of fun, even though it isn't front of mind, here's what my Scrivener looks like. This was the first project I ever used Scrivener for, and I basically still use it this way with some extra embellishments here and there.
I don't know if there's anything to note here. The chapter open is a chapter I heavily rewrote some time after publishing it, so the status tag in the bottom right 'Dogmeat' refers to a finished draft that hasn't been edited. I really hope I *did* edit it before uploading it but who knows!
Anyways, that's it for the unsolicited peek behind the curtain. I've been having a lot of fun returning to this project while pretty blocked on my personal work, and wanted to share my enthusiasm.

If you can’t tell, my dearest ship dynamic is “we’re so incredibly different in a myriad ways but we relate to each other’s experiences better than anyone else can”
