Tomorrow night, as you are aware is Thursday April 14th. What’s so special about that particular Thursday you ask? It’s Milk and Cookies night of course. We’ll provide Milk and Cookies and a trove of literary wonders. Anyone who enjoys Speculative Fiction and sweet treats is welcome. If you have a story you’re burning to share, bring that too. Announcements
A) As you may know, all RSO events were cancelled on Thursday because of the Shelter in Place order. This means that our book club for “The Ocean at the End of the Lane” is going to happen this Thursday (2/25) instead. There will be milk and cookies as a treat.
B) We’ve finally got our hands on copies of The Summoner, by Gail Z. Martain, as mentioned on this very blog, as well as the first couple of books in the Codex Alera series, which was requested. There are also a few other new books, so you should come check them out.
Book Club
Quick reminder: Tomorrow night(Thurs. Feb 18th), 7-9pm, is our monthly book club. The book is: The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. It’s less than 180 pages and you could probably read it in one night if you want to come join the discussion.

Social and Elections
Hello fellow nerds. Tomorrow (Thursday Feb. 10th) is a Science Fiction Society Social. Come hang out with us from 5-9pm, or just for a bit of that time if that’s all you can do. We will have candy and games, but it’s up to you to bring the competitive spirit and diverse and conflicting opinions on science fiction works.
Also, as our beloved head librarian has graduated, we are holding elections for a new one. You have until tomorrow to nominate yourself or someone you think would be a good fit. The candidates may give speeches at the social, and we will accept votes in person and online until the end of the week.
Milk and Cookies
Hey everyone! So we’re bringing back the Milk and Cookies this semester. Our first one is going to be This Thursday, which also happens to be February 4th. Come, have milk (or lactade) and cookies, and enjoy having stories read aloud. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could even bring something to read aloud to everybody. Just make sure it falls under the Speculative Fiction umbrella (Science Fiction, Fantasy, Alternate History, Horror, and all ones that fall somewhere in between). We’ll see you there.
