there was a challenge on twitter i saw that was to draw your ultimate self so i proceeded to fixate on figuring out what mine would be like. this is what i came up with. :)
This is something I started a while back for the ultself tag on Twitter, but just got around to finishing it the other day. I thought a little about what an Ultimate Mage of Hope would be like, so Iāll put it under the cut if anyoneās interested!
Alright, so while the mage class has never been given a specific definition or had a fully god tiered player, Iām basing this off of the explanation that Iāve always felt fits best; āone who arms themselves with knowledge about [aspect]ā. In my case itād be arming myself with knowledge about hope, and while the aspect of hope is based on belief, the mage class grounds it a bit. Since mageās are knowledgeable about their aspect, I donāt think they would just blindly hope for certain outcomes. Their beliefs would be based more on things that they know will or wonāt work. And if new information is brought in, then that will shape the mageās belief accordingly. Now, in terms of just normal god tier, I think a mage of hopeās powers would include:
Knowing otherās hopes/beliefs which could be used to either motivate others into doing something, or prey on it to use against them so that they loose hope.
Being able to materialize what either they or others believe to a certain extent. For example, if they believe that their team will be able to defeat an enemy, while the mageās powers wonāt automatically take out the opponent, itāll help lead to that result by raising the teamās power levels or allowing the mage to think of a good strategy.
Giving their hope or lack thereof to others. While this could be purposefully done, I think it would also be a bit involuntary. Like that sayingĀ āhope is contagiousā. So if theyāre feeling confident a plan will work everyone else feels better about it too, and inversely if they donāt believe something will work then others will loose confidence in it as well.
As for an Ult. Mage of Hope, I think it would make them just super confident. And I know from what weāve seen so far that most of the ultselves seem to be confident that what their doing is what needs to be done, but with a mage of hope I feel like whatever they choose to do would be an absolute for them with no questions or doubts. Since your ultself is achieved by having the deepest understanding of your aspect, and hope is all about belief, if they were to believe that something was going to happen, then it would happen. Like I mentioned before, while I think a normal Mage of Hope would be able to materialize things to a certain extent, an Ult. Mage of Hope could effortlessly create anything or any outcome they wanted, simply by the fact that they believe it will exist. This makes them EXTREAMLY difficult to deal with if anyone opposes them and believes what their doing is wrong, since the mage could simply alter others beliefs to align with their own. Itād take something really profound to alter an Ult. Mage of Hopeās beliefs.
With all of that in mind, as my ultself Iād probably end up trying to force what I believe is the solution to my friends problems onto them. Not necessarily going so far as to alter what my friends believe if they disagree with me or donāt ask for help, but just being really pushy, likeĀ āI know what the issue is, I know how to fix it, this is what you should do because I knowĀ Iām right.ā Consequently, I also feel like Iād come across as really cocky. I think I already can be at times as is, but as my ultself itād just be way way worse with the ego boost thatād come from believing my way is the best way. So ult. me would probably have the best intentions, but would go about it all wrong because she doesnāt understand why someone wouldnāt what to do it theĀ ārightā way(her way). Eventually my friends could probably get me to understand, itād just take a lot of effort.
