#ultimate straight

If we’re being honest, I was kind of shocked to receive the VoxBox - seeing as how I have already straight hair and all. On top of that, I was a little worried about how the line is 4 different products that should be used back to back to back to back, because my hair is extremely fine and can get weight down easily by a lot of products.

So with those 2 things in mind I was more than skeptical when I started to use these products.

As directed, I started with the shampoo which smells pretty darn good, followed by the pre-conditioner (is that really a thing for most people), the regular conditioner, and the balm once out of the shower.

Let’s start by saying I’m not super picky when it comes to shampoos. If it smells nice and gets my hair clean, I’m down. But let’s get to my opinions… As far as when I followed the steps and blow dried my hair afterwards… 1. I was presently surprised how the products didn’t greasy up my hair too quickly or make it lay more flat than usual. 2. The products have a pleasant fragrance. 3. The “pre-conditioner” and conditioner do work really at keeping my ends tidy. But when I didn’t blow dry… 1. My hair had major oil and I couldn’t go more than a day without washing it again, when I typically go 2-3 days. 2. Because my hair is already straight, I couldn’t really determine if it helped keep it straighter, longer. 3. The balm was probably my least favorite part. I’m sure it would work better on curly, coarser hair - but with my straight, fine hair (although I have a lot of it) it was just too much.

All in all, I think the shampoo and conditioners get the job done - as far as cleansing and conditioning, but I’m not comfortable negating the “straightening” aspect, if my circumstances are not necessarily what they’re aiming for.

Would I repurchase? Probably not - only because I’m not looking for a “straightening” aspect when purchasing hair care products.
