Back at Cypress Lake on the campus of my Alma mater… last time my 70-200 was the longest lens I had and this time I brought my 200-800 hoping to shoot some of the birds we have here that don’t live in The Woodlands 220 miles to the northwest. Sadly, this photo trip in the afternoon was an afterthought or spontaneous “the birds won’t be out it’s the dead heat of the day but let’s go anyway” trip and predictably the birds were definitely not hanging out.

May try tomorrow morning early… might not.

The student union at the university (university of Louisiana) I attended maintains an alligator habitat in a lake in the center of campus right by the student union.

I brought about every lens in my bag except my 200-800mm which…. Would have been great today… there were so many birds and creatures just outside the range of my 70-200… it was fine.

I’ll be coming to Louisiana to visit my mom every 4-6 weeks, so it won’t be long before I get another crack at it.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has a swamp as its distinctive feature right behind the student union. I went by today because I wanted to go to the bookstore there and by UL clothes and stuff.
