OH That's a very interesting question. When he and Jan were good they were good. That sex was mind-blowing. BUT then Alfred learns that Ivan only started this to get to Matthew and breaks up with him bc he’s not sure anymore what was real— the drama of it all.
THEN ALSO, maybe, Matthew is having this secret relationship with Katya because they connected before he realized that she was Ivan’s sister, and now they’re both worried about what this means for them, and how it would effect them—
