I can't shush about this any more, it's driving me crazy because i don't think fanfic authors mean Crowley to be flipping people off all the time.
In canon, Crowley sometimes salutes using two fingers. That's fine. You can call that *a* two fingered salute.
But if you say *the* two fingered salute? That is extremely rude and basically means eff off.
If you want to demonstrate the number two in the UK, you want to be palm out. The way Crowley does the salute is OK but you have to be careful not to alter your hand placement lest you slip into Extremely Rude.
Please god spread the word. Every single time I read this I'm pulled out of the flow and have to go wait is he being offensive or not? It's hugely distracting and drives me kinda crazy!
Was anyone else expecting the emergency alert thing to be louder? It was kind of disappointing low-key.
