the bulk of their early interactions consist of Mithrun watching Kabru like a hawk, waiting for him to trip up and reveal his schemes; on the other hand, Kabru is frantically trying to extract information from Mithrun for the sole reason of presenting his 'please-don't-become-a-dungeon-lord' case to Laios. and then 40 chapters later Mithrun is like "what if i make this guy one of my primary reasons for living." it's awesome. and yet for some reason people are obsessed with turning their dynamic into 'Kabru hopelessly chasing after an indifferent-at-best, mildly-perturbed-at-worst Mithrun.' which doesn't even scratch the surface of what's actually going on between them. don't talk to me
