Cain Velasquez vs Brock Lesnar
Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (14-2) is back. Presumably. We still have a few days. But after two and a half years on the shelf due to a litany of injuries that led him to be ruled medically unfit to compete, Velasquez is back. It’s really a shame that we never got a consistently healthy Cain because I think we were robbed of another amazing dominant heavyweight in a similar vein to Fedor.
Velasquez finds himself in a similar position to when he was tasked with the UFC’s debut on Fox - He will headline the UFC’s debut on ESPN proper this Sunday (February 17). And much like on FOX, he’s facing a rising foreign up and comer with terrifying power in both hands in Francis Ngannou (12–3). Hopefully this time around goes a little bit better for Cain.
