Every Dricus fight is like whiplash.
Why does he move like that?
Dricus basically beat up Usman for like 4.5 rounds, shoots for a takedown as he starts to gas, gets stuffed and allows a 39 year old Usman with no knees to walk him down for the last 2 minutes of the fight. Amazing stuff.

Tommy McMillen stops Alberto Montes in the 3rd round
A fun sloppy affair. McMillen is pure aggression, stringing together long combos and pushing Montes back to the cage repeatedly. Even got knocked down twice trying to push Montes back. But Montes could not capitalize. Got caught up in McMillen's pace and just tried to rest when he did get time instead of take initiative and try to force McMillen back. Even though I suspect McMillen is terrible fighting backwards. Instead, McMillen wore him down before finishing him along the fence.
Not a believer in his long term prospects as a contender but McMillen will make some money as an action fighter as long as he's able to keep getting up when he does get dropped cause there's gonna be a lot of that in his future. Lots of reaching punches. Would be interested in seeing him against someone with a range game. What does he do when he can't just press.
Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested by federal authorities Saturday in Miami, according to U.S. Marshals Service.
The Tates were arrested in Miami today, hours before they were supposed to be promoting a bare-knuckle boxing event alongside other sex pest Jon Jones

Missed Delgado-Bashi
Alden Coria takes UD over Stewart Nicoll.
An Australian wrestler, sucking the life out of the exciting American striker. A tale as old as....wait a minute....
Not the most impressive win for the rising FLW prospect as Nicoll was a guy coming in 0-3 with two stoppage losses in the UFC. And Nicoll gave Coria serious problems. Coria really didn't have much of an answer for Nicoll just bursting forward from southpaw with the overhand. Never really hurt Coria but it would get him to back up repeatedly. And When Coria did commit to sitting on his rear hand, Nicoll was able to just shoot underneath and take him down. Coria still had the offensive fire power, grappling dynamism, and jab to swing the fights his way each round but it should be noted by Coria's team how simply Nicoll was able to basically turn bad situations (his back to the fence, being stuck at range) to his favor despite lacking Coria's athletic gifts.

Kamaru Usman vs Joaquin Buckley
It seems like someone finally got to Kamaru Usman (21-4) and told him he's likely not fighting for the title at 170lbs anytime soon. And at 39 years old with no knee cartilage left, I can only imagine that moving up was tempting. Especially because they offered him the former champion that just lost a 25 minute wrestling match with a guy you were much more competitive with. If a title shot was the goal, a win here might get you one at 185lbs.
The former welterweight champion will face off with the former middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis (23-3) in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Oklahoma City this Saturday (July 18).

Tommy McMillen vs. Dumar Roa - RUF 62
Was curious why Tommy McMillen (10-0) was on the main card this week despite not being from Oklahoma. But he's a tattooed white boy from Montana, so maybe they think he's the next Sean O'Malley. Despite being primarily a wrestler. Then I remembered his UFC debut caused some....buzz? It was split of three camps - 1) people who were confused why he was given so much hype despite moving like he's underwater 2) people who like a guy who can swang and bang, even in slow motion 3) people who were generally impressed by the cohesion and tactical parts of his game despite him fighting sorta like a drunk at the bar.
McMillen will be in action this Saturday (July 18) for UFC Fight Night: Du Plessis vs. Usman. He'll be facing featherweight Alberto Montes (11-1).
Veronica Rodriguez vs Kira Matsutani | K-1 WORLD GP 2026
2026 was a year for new faces in K-1 as the promotion lost a lot of its homegrown stars to ONE. Fighters like Yuki Yoza and KANA bounced, presumably for bigger paychecks. This provided some space for new names to emerge from the international scene. One such fighter is Mexican Veronica Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is a former MMA fighter that has taken to Muay Thai and Kickboxing. As far as I can tell, she didn't have a ton of experience in either before appearing in K-1. Then the 24 year old won the K-1 women's atomweight title. Go figure.
Rodriguez will look to defend that title against Aki Suematsu at K-1 Dontaku 2026 this Monday (June 20).
Lewis McGrillen vs Dean Garnett | PFL Europe 3: 2024 Playoffs
25 year old Lewis McGrillen (12-1) is finally coming state-side. The UK fighter won the 2024 PFL European BW tournament in this barnburner against Dean Garnett. And their giving him some solid billing, having him fight in the co-main event.
McGrillen will face off with Rafael do Nascimento (12-2) this Saturday (July 18) at PFL Austin.
Random but with gas prices being what they are, my advice is get a bike w/ a rack and some panniers!
It is above 100 degrees here in NJ.
As the heatwave full force hits this weekend, I know some people may be without an A/C or might lose power due to the extreme heat.
If that is you, check your local library! They may be a designated cooling center. They probably won’t be open Saturday (4th of July and all) but you may be able to take refuge today, tomorrow, and Sunday!

Laura Grzyb vs Stevi Levy | 10/27/2023
While she never really reached the heights of the super bantamweight division in boxing, Laura Grzyb (12-0) is a solid convert to MMA. She's a former IBO super bantamweight champion and a former Polish amateur national champion. Grzyb made the jump to MMA last year, starting off her career going 2-0 while competing at flyweight.
Grzyb will face off with journeywoman Rayla Nascimento (12-11) this Saturday (July 18) at KSW 120.
Jinnosuke Kashimura vs Hideo Tokoro | RIZIN.52
The RIZIN BW title is in the hands of yet another boring top control wrestler type from America. No clue why RIZIN brings those types in. But they have a Japanese challenger waiting in the wings. Jinnosuke Kashimura (12-5) is a former Road to UFC alum that realistically was on the show way too early into his career. At only 24, he's been a pro since 2020. He's primarily a grappler, with 10 of his wins coming by submission.
Kashimura will challenge BW champion Danny Sabatello (18-4-1) this Saturday (July 18) at RIZIN LANDMARK 15 in HIROSHIMA.
