When I lead with it, I set the tone. Slice up the hierarchy, let’s meet in THIS space/ this moment. I am modeling a certain ethos. In a way, what I would like to receive. And this may not always be the case but when I come to an interaction as clear as possible, it allows me to create something closer to neutral. The other person will say things and make their moves and I will do the same. What unfolds will show me more about this person.
