The Marvel Mangaverse happened twice, in 2002 and then in 2006. My single favorite issue is probably Avengers Assemble! the art for which was done by Udon Studios.

For those who enjoyed the X-Men Evolution animated series during the 00's, Marvel recently reprinted the tie-in comic books and I think it's a good example of how Japanese anime was starting to influence American comic books and animation. The comics were written by an American female writer named Devin Grayson and has art by Udon Studios.
