Week 7
I made it to week 7, and I'm doing well so far.
(Re)cap of my life for the past 8 weeks:
I moved to California, to attend UCSD. I am of the Class of 2018.
I chose a theme of minimalism this year. While so far I've mostly adhered to this principle, I admit I've faltered for some ephemeral wants. It's okay though. It's not too bad, and I've been living in moderation for the most part.
As for my wardrobe, I have about 20+ articles of clothing (3 solid tees, 3 OCBDs, 3 exercise shirts, 3 UCSD shirts, 2 sweatshirts, 2 jeans, 2 casual shorts, 1 pajama pants, 1 running shorts, 2 swimming trunks, some underwear, ties, a belt, and some socks). I was very proud of it when I devised the list. I also went with a BIT (Buy It There) philosophy for hygiene essentials and food supplies.
My school essentials were my laptop and my phone and the stuff to go with it. Also, a couple of pens, pencils, binders, and notebook paper.
When school started, I had this goal of finishing work on the weekend. It's 2 days of not-too-much stress and 5 days of little-to-no stress, as opposed to the alternative I'd lived by, which is 5 days of stress, and 2 days of no relief. I gotta say I like the former. It helps that the homework is all posted on the websites the week before. I'm not too sure how long that will last though, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
It also helps that I'd spread out my classes through the day to include a nice hour or so to break from school work. I assumed I was gonna have homework everyday, but I don't, so that's even better :D
Midterm week wasn't too stressing, mainly because I kept mostly strong to my minimalist philosophy, and also because I made sure to take care of myself. I kept focus of the goal, and nothing could sway me too far away from getting done what I needed to get done. Result: Highest midterm: 99% in Math20B. Lowest midterm: 93.5% in Chem6A.
It's week 7 now, and while college is catching up to me, I'm making sure I stay at least 1 step ahead, keeping my eyes about 3 steps ahead, but my mind stays on my current step always.
