UCC Clockwork, Estancia Mall
It’s interesting when I read reviews about UCC and its different stores, including a couple of UCC Clockwork stores across the city, because some people love its food/coffee, while some people don’t like its food/coffee at all. For my family and I, we are at the side of the spectrum that finds comfort in UCC’s food - from main dishes to desserts to coffee (well, I don’t drink coffee but my family does and they love UCC coffee). Â
I originally wanted to order the Thick Toast Green Tea Nutella but no one wanted to share with me, so I settled for the Green Tea Clair (Japanese-style waffle crepe) instead. This was a soft, warm, thin waffle topped with green tea ice cream, whipped cream, sweet red bean paste, mochi, and fruit, and made for a filling dessert! My brother had the Mango Clair which was served with cubes of mango and strawberry, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. G, of course, had a chocolate dessert, the Ultimate Chocolate Cake, while my mom and dad shared the Tiramisu.
UCC Clockwork
UCC is one of G and my go-to places for good food and coffee/tea, so when I discovered UCC Clockwork in Pasay I knew I had to drag G back here for a quiet Saturday afternoon.
The menu of UCC Clockwork is different from their other branches, and the interiors are really, really nice! G and I were pretty famished when we ordered - G had the Asian Steak and Eggs (with kimchi rice) and I had the Adobo Floss Pasta Plate #OMG (olive oil based pasta, garlic adobo flakes, tomatoes, poached tamago, garlic bread). Thumbs up for both dishes - the steak was juicy and the kimchi rice was spicy, and as for my pasta, this probably is the most adobo flakes-packed adobo pasta I’ve ever had! The creaminess of the poached egg, tomatoes and onions balanced out the crispness of the marinated pork flakes.
To cap off our late lunch, I had the Davao Chocolate (single origin cacao, fruity, creamy, and chocolatey) which definitely had a fruity taste to it, but I wish the chocolate could have been thicker. G had his usual latte which tasted consistent with those of other UCC stores.
G was pretty happy with this place too so we are definitely going back here again!
