Music Submission Monday with U3000 (the real life edition)
Every once in a while I leave the house, go to a concert and then donât go home straight after the concert is finished (crazy, huh?!). And every once in a while Iâll talk to a stranger who makes music and sometimes they give me their music or at least a name to check out. Last week I had one of those nights and I returned home with a note saying âU3000âł.Â
U3000 is a Berlin-based, German singing pop band. The first track I heard/saw was âTerroristâ and it got me immediately. One reason is because they remind me of Berlin artists like Nachlader. I loved Nachlader but he was/is playing so rarely that if he plays somewhere I missed it most of the time and then I kind of forgot about him. So, here comes U3000 - pop, a bit  electro and so damn catchy. One reason may be the repetition of certain lines in their lyrics but also the melodies are - what Germans call it - a Ohrwurm. The songs just stay in your brain for what feels like forever and itâs not annoying. Most of my Sunday I spend watching their videos, TV Noir appearance and whatever I could find on the internet until I had to leave the house. I didnât felt quite right to leave the house without their music, so I bought their album âWir Haben Euch Belogenâ. The released it October â15. Itâs a absolute gem. They have this young, wild, wonderful energy. I see myself in my mindâs eye dancing on one of their concerts and sing their lyrics at the top of my lungs. When is their next concert in Berlin? I donât know! Letâs all hope soon.Â
Have a splendid week,
