Imagine you (not your OC, YOU) have to attend a symposium where you have to present your research at a uni in Naples. At the same time a certain benefactor is walking through the hallway. You're nervous about having to speak to this foreign crowd in a theatre that big so you don't notice him watching you as you walk past him with the Dean. Curious, he follows you two, and is surprised to see you placing the lapel mic on yourself and start talking about how early childhood trauma affects identity formation. He listens, and listens and listens some more, listening to how you've managed to put everything he has ever experienced into words, even the things he couldn't explain himself and chose to bury instead. You finish speaking and move on to answering the questions and he's more impressed with your rapport with these kids. You couldn't have been much older than them but you owned the space as if you belonged there. The Dean had started making his way out, when Giorno caught his attention and asked who you were, the older man explained that you were a junior professor from a South African university whose paper caught his attention. Your name rolled off his tongue, and soon your time slot was up. You had started to make your exit as the next speaker readied themself, Giorno decided to follow you because he had to get to know you.
You see, he didn't have to look at you a 2nd time because his eyes never left you in the first place.
