Tyrren: I'm glad someone new is in charge. I think you'll be way more competent, and definitely fairer than our last boss. By the way, what exactly happened to her?

Jill: I can't say. Anyway, this does mean I'll have to step down from the union, obviously, at least until someone else takes over.

Tyrren: Well, don't think I'm letting this go, but on the union front... I think I have an idea for who could be our new union rep for the floor. Now, I can't say that this person would be better at this than you, I mean, you did literally start the whole union-

Jill: Please, I just picked up from where Nardeth left off. Enough rambling, who do you mean? You? Because I have to say, you have a lot on your plate, what with running a whole team of your own.

Tyrren: no, not me. I mean, the person who has been supportive of this whole idea since the start. Someone who knows about something nefarious that she refuses to tell me, because she's just that loyal to the cause. I've had a hunch that she's been protecting you.

Jill: ... You wouldn't turn me in, right?

Tyrren: Woah, this isn't a threat! Whatever you did, I won't pry. I'm just saying, Jade won't even tell me whatever it was- that I have no way of connecting to you- so I know she would do anything to protect her colleagues, and her friends.

Jill: Wow, she didn't even tell on me to the guy she loves? Maybe she would be a good replacement.

Tyrren: *sniffs*

Jill: What is it, what's wrong?

Tyrren: Apparently they did break in to meet Jeff.

Jade: Makes sense. Still!

Cyrin: At least they have boobs now. It's what they wanted.

Hilda, quietly over the phone: It's still really messed up. I just feel like we don't have a clear enemy here- the renegades hurt Correhnon, but it's our own people who are hurting Nardeth. And that was before they weren't one of us anymore, too.

Jill: Well, that's not entirely true. It's not our own people hurting our friends, it's our bosses.

Jade: And the interrogation- I mean, "department of information". They're the ones who hurt Nardy the first time around.

Jill: True. But, the interrogators are totally under management's thumb!

Jade, nodding her head: Absolutely. Did you know they get bonuses awarded directly by management, no standardised system approved by payroll, depending on who they... 'interrogate'? As in, people who management wants them to threaten and hurt.

Jill: This is why I want to ask you guys something. You know I was talking a little while ago about the possibility of, uh, coming together? *Whispers* Industrial action, like Nardeth was looking into before they got taken away? Well, what would you think, considering what just happened, about the possibility of... Actually doing that.

Cyrin: You mean, forming a u-word?

Jill: Your words, not mine. What I didn't say can't hurt me or get me taken away.

Tyrren: I'll say it if no one else will. I don't like the way things are run. I don't like my friends getting hurt, and I don't like the power imbalances around here. *Looks over at Jade* So, if you're all in, so am I.

Jade: I completely agree. Couldn't have said it better babe. You got union cards for us to sign?

Cyrin: Yeah, I want one too.

Jill: Oh! Yeah, I do. I've kind of been downplaying how much thought I've given this. Here. One for you, one for you, one for you- Hilda?

Hilda: Mmmm... Look. A renegade did that to Correhnon. The system we've got now fights renegades. I'm not exactly comfortable with the work environment, but I don't want to shake things up too much.

Jill: Hilda, this system is what got Correhnon almost killed. This system is what Nardeth was tortured and killed by. If you want change, if you want things to improve and to feel actually safe at work, there's only one way that will happen. We come together, and we make those changes. So, are you with us?

Hilda: ... Okay. I'll see you in a couple hours. Give me a stack of union cards then, and I'll share them around my department. Discreetly, of course.

Jadelix: ... Absolutely nothing, babe. You?

Tyrren: Apparently, someone just deleted, like, half the names off the watchlist.

Jadelix: Oh, really? Interesting.

Tyrren: Yeah. You see anyone hanging around corridor F? My team's supposed to have a look for this guy.

Jadelix: No, I haven't seen anyone. Good luck.

Tyrren: Ah, oh well. You were always good at keeping your eyes out for weird shit. Talk to you later, Jade
