Hi! This is for the book recommendations. I like fiction books that have tons of adventure, lovable characters, friendships, families and books that keep you wanting to know more. The less romance there is, the better! (This is probably an uncommon opinion, but I hate it when there's romance in stories.) Any style of writing is okay, because I love to read writing from lots of different authors. Thanks! :)
care for a book rec?
Hi! It sounds like you’d be interested in the Girl Genius series by Phil and Kaja Foglio (pretty sure I’ve recommended it to someone on here already, but that’s just bc I love it so much). It’s steampunk-ish and super good. I can’t remember if it features romance, but I don’t think there’s a massive amount of it.
You might also like to check out the Bone Season series by Samantha Shannon. While there is romance, it’s relatively pared down compared with other ya adventure books that I’ve read, and it’s a gorgeous story. The romance is by far not the main focus, and barely features in the second and third books.Â
Ok so the next one is pretty romance-focused (though it’s slow burn over the course of four books), but I think you’d like it anyway - the focus is more on friendship than romance, though the romance is there. It’s The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. It’s such a beautiful series, with really lovely writing.
