There is a playlist on Spotify called ‘You and Me’. I have decided to start a loosely affiliated drabble series based on these songs - one for each song. This drabble is part of that series.
Welcome to ‘Love Songs’.

“The tickets will be waiting for you at the box office,” you could hear Tyler’s smile through the phone, “so make sure you bring an ID to pick them up.”
“Of course,” you tried to sound excited through the pain.
“And I assumed you would be bringing Marie, so there are two tickets,” his voice changed from excited to concerned.
“Thanks,” you count out the painkillers in your head before picking them up from the counter.
“Are you alright?” his voice was small, “you seem distant.”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” you wince, you weren’t doing as good a job as you thought, “I just have a headache is all.”
“Another one?” his voice was serious now, “you had one just the other day too.”
“It’s just stress from work, is all,” you pop the pills into your mouth, “promise.”
“As long as you are taking care of yourself,” he seemed to relax.
“I am,” you quickly swallowed a glass of water.
“I’m so excited to see you,” Tyler said softly, “it’s been too long.”
“Yeah,” you smiled. It had been almost a year since the last time the two of you had spoken face to face - too long. While you had been close since about your sophomore year of high school, this growing thing between the two of you had never really been addressed. You didn’t keep in touch with other friends from fifteen years ago like you did him, and there was something that wasn’t there before. It sat between the words you did manage to say, like a weight on a scale, tipping your feelings in his direction.
“I’m going to let you go, so you can get some rest, okay?” he yawned.
“Okay,” you resisted the urge to yawn as well.
“Good night, Y/N,” he paused for a moment. “Sleep well, Lollipop.”
You felt your heart skip a beat, he hadn’t used that name for you since before the band had gotten big. It had been years.
“You too, Maverick,” you returned the gesture, hoping it sent some of your feelings silently over the phone.
“See ya.”
“Yeah, see ya,” you hear the silence settle on the other end before lowering your phone from your ear.
You would talk to him tomorrow after the show. You had to. About everything.
Tyler threw his arms in the air, the roar from the crowd washed over the stage like a breaking wave.
Another glance over his shoulder, towards the side of the stage - the tech shook his head.
Feeling his heart drop a little lower, his fingers found the keys for the next song and he shook his head, a little harder than normal to adjust his thoughts. He needed to be here, to be in the now - these people had come for a show and he would give them one. They were important and should be his priority. But the empty stage left, and the unclaimed backstage passes slowly ate away at him as the night wore on.
“This next song is for my main man, Josh,” he pushed through, he always did.
“What’s going on, man?” Josh wiped down his face with the white towel. “You’ve been off tonight.”
“I’m sorry,” Tyler’s fingers massaged his forehead. “She didn’t show up.”
“Y/N?” Josh frowned as his shoulders fell, “so, Marie didn’t either?”
“No,” Tyler’s voice was quiet.
“You should call them,” Josh put the towel down and stretched his sides, “something might have happened to them.”
“Yeah,” Tyler dug through his dressing room bag, “I just hope they’re alright.”
“I’m sure it’s nothing serious-” Josh was cut short by the look on his bandmates face, “what is it?”
“I have sixteen missed calls from Marie,” he rubbed the back of his head as he pulled up the voicemails, “I think I might need to go.”
“Yeah man,” Josh watched Tyler pace as he listened to the panicked sound in Marie’s voice over the phone.
Tyler’s eyes were wide as he jumped between messages. “She’s at Wexner,” he cut off Marie’s last message, “let’s go.”
He paused in the doorway of the small hospital room. It was dark except for the small fluorescent light near the bed. Marie turned in her chair to look at them, there were tears in her eyes. She bit her bottom lip before turning back around.
Tyler slowly crossed the room. Stopping at the end of the bed.
And I’ll use you as a warning sign.
That if you talk enough sense, then you’ll lose your mind.
“She looks so small,” his voice was barely audible. The number of things hooked up to your body was overwhelming. “What happened?”
“They think she blacked out,” Marie’s hands were in her lap, she was wringing them together, “she ran a light and hit a tree.”
And I’ll use you as a focal point.
So I don’t lose sight of what I want.
“Blacked out?” Josh stood behind Marie, resting a hand on her shoulder gently, “is that something she does?”
“It’s happened a few times before,” Marie glanced up at him. Tears ran fresh down her face, “I should have taken an hour off work,” she began to gasp for air, fighting back sobs, “I should have driven her. She had been having headaches, I knew it wasn’t good for her to be driving alone.”
“Hey, hey,” Josh came around the chair, “this isn’t your fault.” He took her hands in his.
Marie was trying to regain composure.
And I've moved further than I thought I could
But I missed you more than I thought I would
Tyler’s hands slowly found their way towards yours, “she had a headache last night.”
“Did she?” Marie wiped her cheeks, “you should tell the nurse when she comes back. She didn’t mention it to me, so I wasn’t sure when her last one was.”
“Why was she getting headaches?” Tyler’s fingers wrapped around yours, “what are they from?”
“She was in a really bad car accident almost a year ago,” Marie’s hands squeezed Josh’s, “the Doctor’s aren’t sure why she keeps having them, or why she’s blacking out. She’s been getting tests done.”
“Why didn’t she say anything to me?” Tyler’s eyes began to fill with tears. He continued to stare at your face, all bruised and cut up from the collision.
And I'll use you as a makeshift gauge
Of how much to give and how much to take
“You were touring,” Marie sighed, “she didn’t want to burden you. It seems silly now, but she was so determined not to be a bother. Not to dissuade you from what you were doing.”
Tyler clenched his jaw, “yeah that sounds like her.”
Marie stood up, “I’m going to go get some coffee. Give you some time with her.”
“I’ll go with you,” Josh trailed after her. “That is,” he paused and glanced at Tyler, “if you’ll be okay.”
He only nodded.
I'll use you as a warning sign
That if you talk enough sense then you'll lose your mind
“You’re an idiot,” he mumbled to the room, “you should have told me.”
He leaned forward and rested his forehead against the back of your hand.
“If you don’t wake up from this,” his voice caught in his throat, “I’ll never forgive you, you know.”
He felt some pressure as your hand gently squeezed his. He looked up. Your eyes were still closed but he could tell you were listening.
“I sang a song for you tonight,” he ran his finger tips over your knuckles, “it’s an old one, I’m sure you’ll remember it.”
He inhaled and began to sing, his voice quivering, “The only difference between life and dying, is one is trying, that's all we're called to do. So try to love me and I'll try to save you. Won't you stay alive? I'll take you on a ride, I will make you believe you are lovely.”
And I found love where it wasn't supposed to be
Right in front of me
Talk some sense to me

Reader is really into Tyler coe and is trying to find the right time to ask him out but every time she gets him alone someone pops in unexpectedly
You couldn’t stop the blushing and stumbling over words when youwere around Tyler. As much as you tried to hide it, there was no way you denythat you found him gorgeous, sweet, funny, and a hint of irresistible. At leastthat’s what you remember telling the girls when you were drunk that evening.
Somehow you managed to convince yourself to ask him out. Just fordrinks after work. You reassured yourself as you summed up the courage to speakto him. For once the kitchen was empty and you mumbled to yourself as you madecoffee “Hey Y/N, what number coffee is that?” Tyler asked.
You nearly spilled the scalding liquid over yourself “Oh I’ve lostcount! Hey Tyler I was just wondering something…”
You took a deep breath but were interrupted by someone “Tyler, weneed you on set!”
“What did you want to ask me?” Tyler asked.
“It’s ok, nothing important. I’ll catch you later!” you added anawkward wave but slapped your forehead with the hand once Tyler was gone.
You tried another couple of times through out the week, but everytime the were about the leave your mouth some disrupted the conversation.
You had nearly given up as you swigged from a beer on a Friday night. You had joined your colleagues at the pool bar after some convincing fromBarbara “Y/N, I need an opponent,” Tyler suggested.
“Go on,” Barbara whispered, giving you a gentle shove from the booth.
One game of pool led to two, you tried to concentrate on your nextmove. But you had to admit, being around Tyler was distracting “Y/N, I want toask you something,” Tyler began.
“Do you want to go for a drink? Just the two of us?” you askedfirst.
“I mean I was going to ask you to dinner…but drinks and dinner?”he suggested. You nodded, and managed to pot a ball with your new confidence.
Today was finally here. You and your boyfriend, Josh, were on your way to a Fall Out Boy concert. Since Josh was, well, Josh, he was granted backstage passes and the two of you were going to watch the show from there as well. Josh knew how much you liked them which is why he bought the tickets in the first place. He also knew about your little crushes on Pete and Patrick, but you knew you would choose Josh over them any day. But that didn’t stop the jealousy that flickered in him every now and then. Your cat pulled into the back, away from all the commotion up front. The two of you were rushed inside and started walking to the area the band was practicing at. “Josh! Hey!” Pete says, walking over and hugging him. “And you must be the lovely girlfriend we’ve heard a lot about” He says, smiling at you. You were completely starstruck. You just smiled and nodded, suddenly not able to form any of your words. “Is she okay?” Patrick asks, seeming genuinely concerned. You felt your face flush, suddenly realized you were just staring at them and not moving or speaking. “Oh, yeah, no. I’m fine” you say, reassuringly. “She’s a big fan of you guys” Josh says, a bit of salt behind his words. “Josh!” You say, feeling even more embarrassed. “It’s okay, I’d rather you be like this then screaming in my face” Pete jokes, obviously trying to lighten the mood. You all talk for a bit longer, until the time comes for them to go on stage. “Hope you guys enjoy the show!” They tell the both of you, before heading out. You and Josh go and stand on the side stave, and jam out to the music. Mostly you, Josh was seemingly mad. You both don’t say anything for a while, but Josh finally speaks. “So are you trying to make me jealous?” He asks, leaning down to your ear so you could hear him. “No, what? I barely said anything to them anyway” You reply. “But your actions spoke for you” he said. And that was the end of the conversation. The set continues on, and Josh seems to lighten up and start having a better time. As the set nears to a close, you and Josh go back to the area you had started in and sit down to cool off. You sit in an uncomfortable silence until Josh grabs your hand. “Listen, I’m sorry for going off on you, I just know you like them so much” he says, rubbing circles on your hand with his thumb. “Josh, it’s fine.” You reply reassuringly. You had thought it was incredibly hot when he got mad, the dark look in his eyes, his building brings, his clenched jaw, everything. But of course, you’d never admit that. The two of you stood up when they came back to the backstage area and congratulated the boys for their performance. “It was so good. It was great being here and watching you guys. Thanks for having me.” You say, hugging each of them. “Don’t worry about it. We loved having you here. Josh as well, always” Pete says. Josh nods and wraps an arm around your waist. “What are you two doing now?” Patrick asks. Josh opens his mouth, but you’re quick to cut him off. “Nothing. What are you guys doing?” You say, probably a bit too excitedly. “We usually just hang out around here for a bit, you guys are welcome to stay” Patrick says, sitting down on a couch. You nod and look at Josh pleadingly, before he sighs and sits down with all of you. You remember how riled Josh had been, so you decide to take it a step further. You were very openly flirting with them, but not too much to the point they would notice or where it would be crossing a line. But just enough so Josh would know. “Yeah, you guys are probably my favorite band. I’ve loved listening to you ever since you started, honestly” you say, leaning towards the other boys, sure to be showing off cleavage. Pete looked down, and smiled to himself. “That means a lot” he says, cheeks turning a bit red. “Of course” you say, placing a hand on his knee. Almost immediately, Josh stands up and pulls you with him. “Okay, hate to cut this short, but we should probably get back to our hotel” he says. You rush your goodbyes to the men, before fallowing closely behind Josh, with his tight grip on you. Once you’re outside the area and there’s no one around, Josh pushes you against the wall and blocks you in with his arms. He pushes his hips into yours and looks deep into your eyes. “I bet you thought you were being so fucking cute in there.” He says, searching for a reaction. “Josh. It’s not a big deal. It was just friendly” You say. Josh chuckles darkly. “Just friendly, huh?” He says. He moves his hips away from yours slightly, but is quick to slide his hand down the front of your pants, fingers finding their way to your wetness almost immediately. You gasp at the sudden movements and grab Josh’s shoulders. “Josh, someone could come out any minute, just-” you start, but he cuts you off. “Then who got you this wet?” He asks, fingers sliding between your folds. You hit the wall with your head before sucking in a shaky breath. “It’s you..” you say. He looks deep in your eyes once more, before pulling his hands out, sliding them in his mouth. Without saying a word, he walks off, heading to the car. You stand there for a moment, not sure what just happened, but quickly run after him, getting in the car after he does. You two weren’t alone in the car, so it was silent the entire way back. Once they drop you off, the two of you get out, heading to your room without a word shared. Josh opens the door and shuts it, quick to pick you up, wrapping your legs around him, and attaching his lips to yours. He carries you over to the bed, the kiss passionate as ever. He lays lays you down gently on the bed, but stands back up straight. He stares at you for a moment, before speaking. “Strip” he says. You stare at him for a moment, before beginning to take off everything. Once you’re completely naked, he takes off his belt, tying it to your hands then the bed. He takes off his own shirt and pants, before crawling onto the bed, stoping at your hips, and places one if your legs over his shoulder. He latches his mouth onto your clit sucking and licking fast. You let out a string of moans, followed by your hips bucking to him. “Add your fingers.” You say softly. After a moment of him continuing on without doing as you asked. “Josh, I said-” “I fucking heard you. But you’re not in control” he said, continuing what he was doing once again. He eventually stops what he was doing all together, moving up to where your head was, and kissing you, letting you taste yourself. Josh sits up on his knees, taking off his underwear and positioning himself between your legs, resting them on his thighs. He rubs himself along your folds, before immediately diving into the hilt, causing you to groan and arch your back. “Say my name” He says, picking up his pace. “Josh, fuck” you say between groans. “That’s right. Who’s making you feel this good?” He says, grabbing onto your hips to push you further down onto him. “You are Josh. Only you.” You say. Josh reaches up and undoes the belt, letting your hands free. You go to touch him, but he’s quick in flipping you onto your hands and knees. He brings a hand down hard on your butt, earning a gasp from you. “For flirting with Patrick” Smack. “Pete” Smack. “And especially doing it in front of me” he says, giving you one final hit, before slipping himself back inside you. Your hands gripped at the sheets, as he was going harder and faster, as if he had something to prove. He grabs your thighs and pulls you with each thrust to match his, hitting you in a new area. You moan loudly with each thrust, the soft groans coming from Josh turning you on more. Josh reaches a hand around to your clit, rubbing hard and fast to help get you off. “Josh!” You scream out as your orgasm is in full throttle, shaking your whole body. He finishes soon after you, helping to ride both out. He slides himself out, before resting on his back and breathing heavily. You lay next to him, and he wraps an arm around you, as you listen to the silence. “That was amazing” you say. “Really? I didn’t go too hard?” He asks. “No, I love when you go hard like that. ” You say. You know both of you were smiling intensely.
Could you maybe do #2 on the holiday prompts list (secret Santa) with Tyler Coe if you have time?
just forewarning - im not sure i can write Tyler super well? so i hope i do him justice for you ! <3
“You know, I had hoped he’d stop this after On the Spot...” You comment to Lindsay, both of you watching in mild horror as Tyler walks around, bumping into nearly everything at the Christmas party and still dressed as Santa.
“I think he’s too far gone.” Lindsay replies. You both watch again as Tyler nearly bulldozes Kerry over, before apologizing in a slurred tone. “Rest in pieces, Tyler.”
“Lindsay!” You bark out a laugh and she grins.
“Now I have to go find Adam, see you!” Lindsay waves before disappearing into the crowd. You scan the crowd and quickly grab yourself another drink. You’d already given your Secret Santa gift to Miles, a sweater you’d found on Etsy, made by a fan, with the RvB teams as nutcrackers.
“Y/N! There ya are! Come to pop- Santa! Come to Santa!” You turn around and find yourself face-to-face with the white fluff from Tyler’s santa suit.
“Hi, Tyler.” You greet him, finding it nearly impossible to keep a grin off your face.
“I need you to come with me, sweetheart, I’ve got a present for ya.” Tyler grabs your wrist and starts to tug you down the hallway.
“Okay, okay, slow down!” You trail behind him as he pulls you into his empty office, a present sitting obviously on his desk.
“Hey now, wait a second.” Tyler sits down heavily in his chair then pats his lap. “You gotta sit in Santa’s lap to get the present.” You stare him down for a long moment while he just watches you with a grin on his face, patting his lap again. You sigh, roll your eyes, then try to sit gently on his lap...at least until he grabs you ‘round the waist and pulls you down.
“Alright, Santa, where’s my present?” You complain. Tyler grins at you then gestures to where you’re sitting on his lap.
“This is your present, you’re not enjoying it?” Tyler asks, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Tyler!” You sputter. He laughs and shakes his head.
“No, no, it’s on my desk.” You smack him lightly on the chest then reach over and grab the present.
It’s pretty well wrapped and as you pull the paper off, you reveal a flat box. Pulling that open, you’re faced with a pile of white and red...lace? Lifting it out of the box, you finally connect the dots: it’s a Christmas themed lingerie set.
“I was thinkin’ we could leave early, you could change into that pretty little set, and take care of your Mr.Claus.” Tyler says huskily into your ear, earning shivers.
“Tyler!” You sputter again, smacking him harder and definitely turning red.
"I think I'm in love with you and I'm terrified." with Tyler Coe? And maybe you're terrified because you're ridiculously inexperienced when it comes to relationships and you don't want to mess it up?
“Will you go out with me?” Tyler asked, staring intently at you. Your heart was pounding so loud in your ears that you couldn’t hear anything else. You couldn’t bring yourself to even open your mouth, you were so shocked. “Y/N?”
“I - I just...really?” You finally manage, feeling breathless and on fire.
“Absolutely.” Tyler answers. He reaches out to take your hand and you let his fingers brush yours before you pull back, breath stuck in your throat.
“I - I don’t know, Ty...” You two had been friends for so long it’d seemed, longer than long, and now... “I’m scared.”
“Of what? I’d never do anything to hurt you.” Tyler reassures you. His hands twitch as if he wants to reach out and hold you, but remembering your reaction from earlier, he keeps them to himself.
“I know, I know. Just...I think I’m in love with you and I’m terrified.” You admit, eyes wide and throat closing up. “I know I shouldn’t tell you that, we’re not even dating, but I do, Tyler, I already love you so much.”
“And that’s why I asked you out, Y/N.” Tyler says, pulling you gently to him now and leaning his forehead against yours. “Because I love you too.”

cute high school au Tyler with "From the first time i walked you home from school you stole my heart."???
The day had been cold and dreary, and frankly you had dreaded walking home all day until one boy, the guy who always would tease you in Pre-Calc and shamelessly flirt with you to get a rise out of you, decided to escort you home. Umbrella in hand, he walked in close proximity to you and let you take his jacket.
“You handling the weather okay?” he asked, concern instead of his usual smirk marking his face. “Do you want me to move the umbrella over, or are you getting too cold? We can always slip into a coffee shop or something to warm up or-”
Without thinking, you stop mid-step and reach up to plant a small kiss on the boy, Tyler’s, face. Blushing, you listen to him let out a shaky laugh laced with southern drawl and feel yourself gravitate closer to him.
A/N: It’s been so long since I posted, apologies! This is an older fic I wrote, I tweaked it a bit so hopefully it’s still alright. I’m working on more! <3 you all.
Pairing: Tyler C./ Reader
Word Count: 860
Warnings: None.
Summary: Your best friend comes home.
“No, I’m cooking dinner right now. I don’t know whether it’s supposed to rain tomorrow or not.” You said to your mom as you reached for the salt. You were making a welcome home dinner for your best friend, Tyler, who was on his way back from a work trip.
“It’s Austin mom, it barely rains. I’ve got to go, he’ll be here soon.”
“Fine dear. Call me tomorrow and give Tyler a kiss!”
“MOM,” you groaned, “He and I are just friends and you know that.”
“Sure sure,” your mom said back with a hint of sarcasm, “Talk to you later, love you.”
“Love you too mom, Bye.”
You moved to Texas 2 years ago when you were offered an internship at a radio station. Fresh out of college, you rented an apartment to get a sense of the real world. You started working just down the street and one day this (gorgeous) guy came in and chatted up the sports announcers like he was their best friend. They introduced him as Tyler Coe and he worked for a company called Rooster Teeth Productions. You had heard the name before from your friends back home but hadn’t watched their content on your own. As Tyler stuck up a conversation with you, you both had a lot of things in common and quickly became good friends. Tyler left for work but continued to keep in touch and soon you were friends with him and his coworkers. When he finished work for the week, you two spent a majority of the time together catching up. Now two years later, he was coming back from a month long convention trip in Australia and your apartment was his first stop.
“OUCH!” you exclaimed while reaching into the oven without a mitt. “What was I thinki…”
There was a knock on the door followed by keys turning in the lock.
“HONEY I’M HOME!” Tyler yelled bursting his way through the door.
“Hey there Mr. Internet!” you shouted back while running to hug him.
He pulled you in for one of his crushing hugs.
“None of that stuff please. I’ve had enough of that for a while.” He laughed.
“Fine, fine,” you said, “How was it?”
“Amazing, just missed you and the friends a ton.”
“I missed you too. I made you a welcome home dinner, and burned myself in the process” You told him laughing it off.
“Not surprising, Miss Clumsy.”
“Thanks, Tyler.”
“Listen, before dinner, I need to tell you something.”
By the look on his face, you knew something serious was about to come out of his mouth.
“What’s up?”
“Look while I was down under I was thinking about someone. Someone who means a lot to me, and who I’ve started to fall in love with. I just don’t know how she’ll react and I’m worried she won’t feel the same.”
“Whoever she is Tyler, I’m sure she’ll feel the same way because you’re an amazing person and deserve the best.”
He reached down, grabbed your hands out of your lap and put them in his. “Will you help me then?”
“Of course, what do you need me to do?”
“Just react to what I’m about to say.”
He tightened the grip on your hands and looked down into your eyes.
“I’ve known you for a long time Y/N and I realized I’ve had strong feelings for you from the first time we met. I love you.”
“Good Tyler! Now you just need to say that to the girl.” You whispered since he was so close.
He looked at you again, and out of his mouth came “I just did.”
Your mouth dropped open and you gasped. “Seriously Tyler? C’mon quit joking.”
“I’m not,” He said, “I really do love you.”
Startled by his statement you stood up off the couch and started to pace around to the back.
He got up and followed you all the while saying “See I shouldn’t have told you because I had this feeling you just wouldn’t feel the same.” You heard the emotion in his voice. He stopped when he got to you, and you put your hands on his arms.
“Tyler, no… It’s not what you think” You looked into his eyes, saying what you wanted to tell him for years now.
“I’m shocked. I never knew you felt that way about me. I’ve been keeping my own secret for years. The minute I met you in the radio station, I knew I had fallen in love. I was terrified to tell you because I thought you didn’t feel the same.”
“You’re kidding.” He laughed and pulled you in for a hug.
“Not kidding. Not kidding at all” You said into his chest.
You backed up just enough to see his face, to see the love in his eyes. He leaned down and your lips connected in what is the most amazing, heartfelt kiss you’d ever had.
Once the kiss broke, he leant his forehead onto yours and said it again, the words you couldn’t wait to hear.
